Owner description: Anastasia State Park includes 1,600 acres of rich ecosystems and abundant wildlife. Explore up to four miles of pristine beach, the estuarine tidal marsh teeming with plant and animal life, or the self-guided nature trail which takes you through the maritime hammock and onto ancient sand dunes. You can also visit the Coquina Quarry, an archaeological site where coquina rock was mined to help construct the nearby Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, earning it a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. At Anastasia, there are many recreational activities to enjoy including hiking, swimming, beachcombing, bird watching, and much more. The campground contains 139 campsites all located within the beautiful maritime hammock and just a short walk or bike ride from the beach. Anastasia has concessions to provide guests with rental opportunities of bicycles, paddleboards, kayaks, sail boats and canoes. There is also a grill area and a small gift shop for visitors to take home an Anastasia memory. The grill location also provides Wi-Fi for visitors' use.

“Peace on the beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

In Jan. the beach is almost deserted which makes it a great place to walk. Only downside is the $8 fee. You can drive down to the hotel area and park for free and still walk the beach.

Doesn't matter if you camp or just came for the day. Nice place, great sand quality. Watched a wedding on the beach on this visit.

Stayed a week camping. The coquina loop is what we prefer. Great beach with lifeguards of duty. Great place to boogie board.

“St. Augustine Beaches are Food”

Most excellent Campground - they allow dogs! The beach is a good walk away from parking though. They have a pretty good restaurant with bike rentals.

“Great camping experience for the kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We're pretty new to the camping scene, but this park has made believers out of us. It's a large park which is always booked, but the loops for the campsites are wooded giving privacy. It's fairly quiet, though you can occasionally hear the amphitheater or road traffic if it's really still. There is electricity and water at every site, and fully equipped wash centers with toilets, showers, washers and dryers, and wash basins for dish washing needs.

There is a small camp store and concession in the beach parking lot with basic needs including fire wood and ice, souvenirs for the kids, and wifi.

We had a great stay and are already planning our next visit!
