We ate at this restaurant the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. We were seated immediately which is the only good thing i can say. The waitress took our orders and brought us some bread and then we waited.....and waited. Finally she brought our drinks....oh i mean one of our drinks. We had 7 people in our party. The rest of us had to wait another 15 minutes to get our drinks. We had been munching on the bread and were about to choke and really wanted something to drink. We then waited and waited on our salads. We were there at least an hour before we got our salads and then had to wait for silverware. There was a large party that came in about 20 minutes after us and recieved theirs way before we did. Finally the food arrived and it was pathetic. I ordered the coconut shrimp which wasn't horribly bad but not worth what i paid for it. My dad ordered a steak medium well and it was like shoe leather when he got it. My husband ordered a seafood combo platter. It was ridiculas. He got very little food and it looked nasty. He said the fish tasted like it wasn't done...he ate only a few bites before he had to call it quits. Both of my kids ordered the kids shrimp meals which were over $7 and only got 4 shrimp. This place was horrible. I did complain and did get a discount off of the bill. My parents however did not get a discount. We were told it was a busy weekend and that is why the service was so bad but i'm not buying it. It was not busy when we got there and that is no excuse for the way the food was cooked and served. Stay away from this restaurant unless you want sorry service and want to pay alot for not so good food.

We stayed at the Casa Del Mar and, inevitably, walked across the parking lot to eat here. Not a mistake we'll repeat! We ordered stuffed flounder. We were served smoked flounder - no crabmeat stuffing. Our waitress said "I must have misheard you." We later heard her tell other tables that the stuffed flounder wasn't available that night. The fish was served with sweet red cabbage. The ceasar salad dressing was sweet also. Service was slow. There are far better options available within a short drive.

The server took our order, but only came by once to check if everything was okay-after delivering the bread. Steak was well done, I ordered it rare. The service was very slow; the main meal was brought out to us by another server who didn't know anything about the salad. It was somehow lost in the kitchen. When I mentioned this to the server (when she finally came over to our table to present the check), she asked if would like the salad served now. No refund was offered, only an apology. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from in St. Augustine.

We had a meal here while staying at Casa Del Mar as the concierge recommended it and it was very close by (across the street!) The food was good, our waiter was very attentive, so attentive in fact that he asked us if "how everything was" when we hadn't got our meal yet - the food seemd to take quite a while longer than 'normal' to arrive but when it did it was good. We were a little surprised at how much the bill was particularly when on following nights we ate at Cortesses a couple of times. We felt that perhaps this restaurant relies a little (in terms of pricing) on on the captive audience of the Casa Del Mar and this part of town where there aren't that many restaurants. Definitely wouldn't avoid this place but if you have time we preferred Cortesses for service, food and value for money.
