I've heard people rave about O'Steen's for years and recently decided to take my dad there for dinner. The wait staff were friendly and prompt. The food was good but not special enough to cost 20 bucks a plate. Those are prices you might expect from a high-end restaurant. The atmosphere was just your typical rustic and nautical mom-and-pop. Another disappointment was that they don't accept credit or debit cards. Who doesn't except credit or debit cards?! The cost of the meal ate up most of my cash and I didn't even have enough to leave a tip. This was embarrassing since I always leave a tip. My advise: Don't buy the hype. Marty's was the same way and now it's a CVS pharmacy - LOL.

Great Fried Shrimp! We have been eating at Osteens since at least 1977. Tips: We arrive a few minutes before 11am & get right in. If someone in your party doesn't like fried shrimp they have daily specials & great vegetables. Try the broiled Flounder with extra seasoning. They can also grill the Flounder or Grouper if they have it. Their steaks are good too. They top their steaks with then best fried onion rings. the only way to get the Onion rings is to order a steak. Try the Squash Casserolle and Sweet Potato Casserolle. Closed Sunday & Monday. No Credit cards & no Alcohol. If there is only 1 or 2 in your party request the counter and get seated sooner. Ask Leslie about the cool O'Steen's T-Shirts.

i have heard people rave about the shrimp at OSteen's. My mom came in town and we tried it out as she is from Missouri and heard about it from someone she works with. Every thing is fried on the menu. we did take the shrimp and we both thought it was just okay. it's fried shrimp. nothing special. I've had frozen in a box better than this. If you want good shrimp, go to Shellfish Grill near world golf village for their beer batter shrimp. Man it is good. Or go to outback crabshack and get the best.

As a family owned and operated restaurant, O'Steen's does what they have been doing for years - attracting hordes of diners to a location that isn't fancy, trendy, or just-like-what-you-can-get-out-of-any-chain restaurant in anywhere USA. Comparing O'Steen's to Red Lobster is like comparing a Ford F350 to my nephew's Tonka truck. They may look a little bit like each other, but only one will haul you to a memorable meal!

O'Steen's provides a wholesome environment that is very clean, serves no alcohol, and takes no credit cards. Their food is well preparred and reasonably priced. Take a peek in the windows while waiting for your table. You'll see the kitchen peeling and deveining the 100's of pounds of shrimp served daily. And if you see a can of Cosco beans, I'll send you off to a meal in a place with a 62 rating from the health department and frozen pre-breaded fishlike filets.

And, for the record, O'Steen's DOES serve more than just shrimp. Ask the retirees waiting outside, many are there for the veggie plate or the Blue Plate Special. But everybody wants their hushpuppies and sweet tea.
