“Enjoyable lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We were a party of 8 ladies working from a reservation made 2 weeks prior to dining. Our table was ready at the appointed time, in a great location, and the wait staff was very nice. At no time did we feel rushed and the restaurant was quite busy. Just about everyone chose something different off the menu and everyone was happy with their meal. The 1905 salad is wonderful!

“Excellent lunch for a very reasonable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Da wife, da boy and I hit the place for lunch about 1 in the afternoon. The interior is beautiful and *huge*! Multiple rooms over several levels. Their a/c in St. Augustine in June was wonderful.

Our waitress was young but obviously a veteran of many months/years. It took a while to get her broken out of the standard spiel and having fun. Then she gave very good recommendations.

Da wife's Cuban sandwich and freaking amazing salad were terrific! I can't remember the name of the salad but it was prepared table side, had a ton of ingredients, and was wonderful.

My Snapper Adelita was very good. The toppings of sundried tomatoes, hears of palm, garlic, olive oil really made the dish. The yellow rice with it was excellent (and I don't get excited about rice).

Da boy's roast pork with Cubana gravy was also excellent. He didn't care for the plantains (they're an acquired taste if not crispy) but he devoured the pork, black beans and rice.

The loaves of fresh crusty bread were very, very good too.

The price was extremely reasonable for the middle of the worst tourist trap area I've ever seen. We were all very happy we came here.

“Disappointed in quality of food for price paid...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We are at the Columbia Restaurant for our anniversary dinner, we had heard such great things. Upon arrival, it was a beautiful building. The architecture was amazing. The food was just so so. We had a tapas trio, which we ended up sending the muscles back. They tasted old and undercooked. My husband and I both ordered paella. Again, just ok. The 1905 salad, in the other hand, was well worth the price we paid. Won't be going there again.

We are so pleased that you chose to celebrate your anniversary with us. I am sorry to read that we did not deliver on serving you and your husband outstanding meals. We know our guests have many choices when dining out, and we did not take care of you by serving you a tapas trio that you had to send back, or serving you paella that you did not enjoy. I am glad to read you both enjoyed your “1905” Salads. We do read all comments here, good and bad, and use them to make improvements.

“A Bit Pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

I've been here several times and it's just a little too expensive for my taste. In the past they have had roving musicians, but not on this trip. The food was ok and nothing spectacular. There are other restaurants in St. Augustine that are far better than this one. The wait staff was ok at best.
