Pirate Haus was a fantastic place to stay in St. Augustine! It's in a great location, a short walk from restaurants, shops, and the water. The roof deck is tons of fun, the rooms were immaculate and well air-conditioned during our June visit. Each room has a different pirate theme which adds extra fun to a weekend trip. We were in the "ship" room.

I was very pleased with this hostel!

This place is a hostel, not the Hilton. It does not have the modern amenities you may be used to such as an in room TV, desk or phone. But what it does have is charm and lots of it.
Your kids will love the pirate themed rooms and you'll love the location. It's in the historic district which means you are in walking distance to all the shops and sights that make St. Augustine famous. If you brought anything valuable with you, such as a laptop to access the free wi-fi, they have lockers in the rooms where you can store it. Just remember to bring a padlock. While I did not meet Conrad during my 2 night stay, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Aye, we have limited parking, however as of now it's limited FREE parking. I have been toying with the idea of charging for parking for 3 guests, then using that income to offset paid parking across the street for guests in the other 2 rooms. That way nobody is blocked in. Whaddya think?

We do have locks available for the lockers, but with a deposit.

Though my first name is Conrad, the last name in not Hilton ;-) If I had the trust fund that went with the name, I 'd have my own building in a great location, and prices to match. As it is we strive to be the best value in town. Thanks for staying with us and I hope you had a great time in our great little town!

“Never a disappointment”

Pirate Haus Inn

My husband & I have stayed at the Pirate Haus several times and have ALWAYS been pleased. Conrad is a warm & friendly guy with a huge heart. We've meet very interesting people & love the atmosphere of the Pirate Haus. This trip to the Pirate Haus, we especially loved our dinner on the deck with great people and watching the fireworks from the fort.
Thank you again, Conrad, for another great time at the Pirate Haus.

My eight-year-old and I stayed here for 3 nights. One night in a private room, and one night in the co-ed dorms. While the private room was ever-so-much cooler in decoration, the dorm was just fine, and my son LOVED the bunkbeds and giant lockers. oh...and the "musical" staircase!

My son LOVED the common room. Even when he couldn't take over the TV, there was an abundance of pirate-themed toys for him to play with. There was also a plentiful stack of games and books for people of all ages to enjoy--I particularly enjoyed "Weird Florida", as well as the two pirate books Conrad gave us to read on check-in.

The piece d'resistance were the personalized pirate pancakes, which had personality and pizazz!!

“Saint Augustine's fun "place to stay"”

Pirate Haus Inn

Apr 21, 2008

When we arrived we were very thrilled to see that where we were staying was right in the heart of historic Saint Augustine. We were very much welcomed by this man named Conrad. After meeting Conrad (The owner) we started to explain to him what we wanted to see in our short stay here. He gave us great ideas, and was very honest with us about things we really need to see and do. His recommendations were very much appreciated. The place itself was very interesting. The name definately describes the place very well. During our short stay we really saw how much of a difference it was to stay here than an everyday hotel. This place was memorable. We met people from many places, ate Pirate pancakes made by Conrad, and socialized over dinner on the rooftop patio listening to a young man play a guitar. I know that I have never had an experience like that at any hotel. That is why I say that it was memorable. On our way home my wife and I talked about how fun it was to stay at the Pirate Haus because it gave us a feeling of being "free" We didn;t even get much of a chance to enjoy the sitting room with the T.V. and internet, because we probably would have met more fun people and not seen much of the town. We enjoyed this place greatly, and what was best was that the people we met seemed to be real and Genuine. And that is how we felt about the owner Conrad. If your looking to have a memorable experience, besides the experience of the town, Conrad ,The Pirate Haus, and the people you meet will definately fullfill it.
