We found this house as we walked the streets on our way back to our bed and breakfast. The entrance is free and have the only original garden from the period which is still kept up by the nuns in the adjacent Abby. The house and its artifacts are amazing and the self guided tour was nice. It was great to see the oldest house in St. Augustine and the history of the nuns who taught, nursed the sick and provided for the children of St. Augustine. They were the first to teach black children and even faced jail time for going against the mandates of the state of Florida that had dictated it was illegal to teach blacks. They supported them selves by teaching French, music and creating to most amazing lace patterns. I can't wait to come back this summer and bring our children. They take donations to support the upkeep of the museum.
