My husband was reluctant to walk in as the exterior looks like a renovated service station. Yet he and I were happily surprised by Lindy and her restaurant, Gas. They have an impressive beer list featuring locally brewed items. Lindy recommended " A Flight"... You pick four beers and they're brought out on a platter for you to sample. My husband loved the Grease Monkey! The bread is made from scratch. The Parmesan mashed potatoes were rich and succulent. I had a savory, juicy burger. He had a basil tomato soup and buttery grilled cheese sandwhich. It was followed up by a salted caramel brownie topped with creamy ice cream, fresh almonds, and fluffy whipped cream.
The service was personable, quick, and fun. Lindy, the owner is on the floor talking to customers and taking orders. One can tell that locals frequent this restaurant because staff calls them out by first names and bring up personal stories. We love this kind of restaurant!
Honestly, it's the kind place we would frequent if it were located in Miami. Luckily we come up to this part of the state often and will be back.
