Some years back, my small children, wife and I took a family trip that started in Disney and ended at an old lake resort in New Hampshire. When we arrived at the lake resort- the cabins of which looked like they came straight out of a 1939 time capsule- the children were thoroughly unimpressed; a bit shocked, even. Compared to the hyper sterile, prefabricated, fiberboard-made hotel in Disney, this place was different, to say the least. They've since grown up to appreciate life on a more refined level, but some people never do.
Potbelly's theater is best left to people who have a degree of 'cultural comprehension' about them. If you want sterilized, predictable, more-of-the-same, go to a chain cinema. St. Augustine now has one..
If you want to step back in time and experience the theater as much as the movie, go here. I mean, you could still smoke in here into the 2000's. The place is definitely a major throwback. It's not a place for the People of Wal Mart, but a pretty good artifact of what St. Augustine used to look like before those kinds of people took it over.
