“Not your usual pub fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

What a surprise to find such unpub dishes. The beef tidbits were totally enclosed in crust like a pastie and served w/mashed potatoes that were outstanding. The pot pies also and not one but two with vegetable was more than filling.

Every dish coming from the kitchen was something to look at and guess at and want to try. One looked more enticing than the other. And it wasn't just the stein of beer that made everything look good.

Opened for lunch and dinner. Occassionally had music that filled the air into the night.

“Nice Discovery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Strolling around the historic area of St. Augustine, looking for a place to eat, reading menus posted outside, and nothing struck our fancy. Then we came across Meehan's. Glad we did. Very good food, attentive waiter (who said he was from Phoenix, but definitely had an Irish accent!), and sitting outside, a nice view of the Bridge of Lions at night.

“Awesome food, okay service- a little too pricey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

I would be lying if I said that the food wasn't pretty good, however, the food is pretty over priced. The desserts are amazing though... Especially the creme brûlée. Decent experience... Service was kind of weird though. Efficient, but not all that friendly. All in all- ill definitely be back.

“Best creme brulee I've ever had the pleasure of tasting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

The server was amazing and rushed to check with the kitchen to see what foods I could eat with gluten intolerance. The atmosphere was fun and lively. Food was yummy.

“Decent Irish Pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We had lunch at Meehan's the other day and found it to be okay. We sat inside at a table for 4 (there were only 2 of us) so you'd think we'd have plenty of room. However, the tables on this side of the patio were so close together it was difficult to get seated. The menu is great - typical pub dishes, lots of seafood choices, plus a solid choice of burgers and entrees. My hubby had the oyster po' boy and said it was good, but didn't really have very many oysters. I had the salmon burger, which was good, but there was way too much cream cheese and chives on it. I'm sure most people would be very happy about that! :>) The fries were good as well.

Service and ambiance were fine. Location is good also - it's across from the water which is nice. No parking on site, but there are lots not too far away. Can't decide whether or not we would go back.
