“Decent Irish Pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We had lunch at Meehan's the other day and found it to be okay. We sat inside at a table for 4 (there were only 2 of us) so you'd think we'd have plenty of room. However, the tables on this side of the patio were so close together it was difficult to get seated. The menu is great - typical pub dishes, lots of seafood choices, plus a solid choice of burgers and entrees. My hubby had the oyster po' boy and said it was good, but didn't really have very many oysters. I had the salmon burger, which was good, but there was way too much cream cheese and chives on it. I'm sure most people would be very happy about that! :>) The fries were good as well.

Service and ambiance were fine. Location is good also - it's across from the water which is nice. No parking on site, but there are lots not too far away. Can't decide whether or not we would go back.

“Great place for a rehersal dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

We held a wedding rehersal dinner in Feb, 2013 on the second floor of Meehan's. I can't say enough for their hospitality and graciousness. There were about 35 people attending and the staff went out of their way to make this event a success. The food was great but it was the pleasantness of the staff that made the night such a success. They could not do enough for us and responded to every request we made. Making arrangements with Eric on line and on the phone went smoothly too.

We also ate dinner downstairs a couple of evenings before this and the wait staff there were equally nice.I highly recommend their french fries - unique and delicious.

“Lives up to it's reputation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

On main street, overlooking water. Popular, thus noisy, but the food is good. Prices on the high side but par for the area. Horse and Buggy depot across the street and is fun to watch while dining.

“A Nice, Pleasant Pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Fish and chips were decent, about average quality. Guiness on tap was a treat. A little pricey but that's St A for you. Would probably go back for lunch.

“Favorite restaurant on this trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We ate here twice. Lunch one day, dinner another. My wife and I also stopped in there one night for drinks. For lunch, I had the Reuben sandwich and the Irish chowder. Yeah...I'd go back just for that again. My wife and mother had the fish and chips. The fish was ok...batter was a little burnt and the second filet was soggy/greasy. Service...not even a little bit good. I had to get up to get drinks and napkins. Dinner was different. The service was better, the food was impeccable. They had fresh swordfish for dinner, it wasn't even on the menu. I'm so glad I ordered that. It was absolutely delicious. My mom ordered the previously mentioned Irish chowder...we can't remember what my wife had. We do remember the Magners Irish cider though. It's worth a trip there just for a few glasses of that (tell them No Ice)
