Originally, we wanted to stop here on the way back from Disney World, but after reading the reviews here I decided not to waste my money.


Well, my son really wanted to go so I said what the heck and we went.

I'm sure glad we did because it was a highlight on our trip!!!

From the reviews I had read I didn't expect to see much besides pictures on the walls, but I got a lot more than that!

There were stories of exhibits, yes, pictures too, but more artifacts than pictures definately.

The old mansion is neat itself, and we saw some wonderful things that day. It took us about 3 hours to see it all and play in the tunnels, etc.

I highly recommend going there if you want a fun, interesting afternoon.

We have been to both the Ripley's museum and have been on the walking ghost tour. Both of them had some very interesting information but were very mildly entertaining and not worth the money.

Most of the exhibits at Ripley's museum are pictures and not actual artifacts in the museum.

The walking ghost tour is not scary and most of the 'ghosts' we were told did not die in the St. Augustine area. Also the ghostly experiences that supposedly other tours encountered were acorns falling from trees (boy ghost throwing them from branches), street lamps flickering (ghosts trying to communicate), etc. Oooh.. spooky!

Both sites would be fun for children between 6-13, but I would not recommend them for adults or for smaller children.

The ghost tour from Ripley's isn't just a ghost "investigation", it's also a historical tour of what has happened in Saint Augustine's history. The tour guides are informative, friendly and animated... but not cheesy and there's no people trying to scare you hiding in the bushes or behind walls. I would go on this tour again next time I'm in town.

Even with the coupon, it was way overpriced. Parts of the museum were interesting but we found it quite boring and breezed through within an hour. Overall it was a disppointment.
