Doskonały is Polish for perfect, because that is exactly what this place is. A small homey environment which delivers food unlike most have ever had.
I urge anyone who has never tried Polish food to give this place a try and be at peace.
We walked in on Saturday night and were met with a smile and would you like to dine in. I did my research and had already planned to eat here so we smiled and said yes. We were sat at a 4 person table and given our menus.
For the 4 of us, drinks included a Cherry Juice, a Black Current, a Diet coke, and I had a water. Soft drinks come bottled, plus they have options such as Mexican coke (made with refined cane sugar, not high fructose corn syrup). They also have a good selection of Polish beer which we were told by other guests were amazing.
For our main course, we had "A taste of Poland" which game with Beet soup, 4 sauteed Perogies, and a Hunter Stew Sandwich. I chose this and I had to say it was utterly fantastic. My brother had 6 boiled potato and cheese Perogies which were out of this world. My mother had 7 spice muscles, with a greek salad, all fresh and delicious. My father had the stuffed cabbage, and to say the least, even kids would love this because of how delicious it is.
We had a just fantastic meal, and garnished almost every dish with the Olive Oil in the center. It had to be made fresh olives, because it was so fresh and delicious it takes first prize in the best Olive Oil I've ever had.
At the very end we all split a Polish cheesecake. It was much different than say a NY style cheesecake but still delicious. Light and creamy, and very savory.
We do not live in Saint Augustine, but when we go back you better believe we are headed back to GAUFRES AND GOODS!
