This was a last minute decision and one that I really wish I hadn't made. The bed & breakfast actually felt like staying in someones house instead of at a B & B. I have stayed at many B & B's. This was an odd feeling. The common area was not very neat and didn't feel very welcoming at all. The kitchen which you can easily see from the living room was piled with towels and linens and was very messy. This area should have been closed off. Our room was nice and everything appeared to be clean. The outdoors lawn on the side of the house is overgrown and strewn with junk. It's not a very pretty site. This isn't a horrible choice but not my first choice. It is moderately priced, but there are better options for a bit more money in the area.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT...... After reading the negative reviews, my husband and I decided to go to Saint Augustine and stay at the Castle Garden.... The Bed and Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous... Very, very clean and the owners were just terrific... I would recommend this Bed and Breakfast to all my family and friends....

Excited about my upcoming wedding anniversary, I explored the Internet for new places to stay in St. Augustine. The write-up at the site where I found this bed and breakfast inn sounded really good. So I booked a reservation with the help of an agency. The innkeeper requires one night's deposit which I put on our credit card. However, that site only had a picture of the outside of the inn. I decided to try to find another site with pictures of the interior and perhaps of the room my husband and I chose. I found this site and after speaking with both the agency and the innkeeper, I was not reassured. My husband canceled our reservation and expected a credit to our card. However, the innkeeper sent us a check!!!!! Our name is spelled incorrectly and now we have to wonder if the check is going to clear!!!! The innkeeper says that this site only hears from a few unhappy people. The satisfied customer never accesses this site to write good things about his inn. We plan to visit this inn when we are in St. Augustine to see what reality is. However, the innkeeper has a strange way of doing business. As I said before, it is not reassuring.

The Holiday Season 0f 2002 was a magical time for me at " The Castle ". I was thrilled to be a guest there for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was a welcome break from my demanding schedule back in Tennessee. My room on each occasion was very attractive, clean and well appointed. The service was excellent, as was the food. I found the Innkeeper to be very charming and eager to please. I truly felt at home there, whether enjoying coffee or breakfast around the large, quaint dining room table, or relaxing with a movie in the parlor over a cup of hot chocolate, after a long, busy day of sightseeing. I was especially impressed with the cozy, wicker filled porch looking out into the tropical garden area overflowing with palms, various exotic flowering vines and plants, as well as citrus trees bearing an abundant supply of fresh fruit. It sort of felt like being in the "Garden of Eden ". The entire experience was exhilirating. It took me back to another time and place, away from the fast paced world we live in today. For a couple of days, I truly felt like the " Queen of the Castle ".
