“Great location, service and the breakfast was yummy!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

We spent a night at the Charlotte Inn and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our room was romantic with all the little "extras" that made it memorable. The location was perfect to truly experience the warmth and charm of St. Augustine. Would definately recommend it and we will be back.

Yummy, we love that description of the food; thank you. And we cant wait to see you back at the Inn on Charlotte to try one of the other dishes. You know they change each day from a sweet breakfast to a savory one. So each day you stay, you will get something new. French-toast Friday (thick-sliced, deep-soaked overnight, grilled golden-brown w/ citrus syrup...) is really amazing, but you have to stay Thursday night for that.

Rod, Ann, Ginny & Jerry

Stayed in the Tiffany room, loved it. The bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries complimented the two person whirlpool tub great. Breakfast was not just a bagel or cereal. We had a poached pear with a almond cream sauce, followed by belgian waffles with apple cider syrup, sliced bananas, and sausage. MMMMM! Which, breakfast was included with room price. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the town. I will definately be back for another weekend. Oh, and the location couldn't be beat.

This was our first time at the Inn on Charlotte although we had visited St Augustine a few times in past years.
The inn itself is typical of buildings of the period and furnished accordingly. Our room, The Verandah, was compact yet comfortable but without a wardrobe so hanging clothes was not possible except in the open behind the room door. In our view the room was over furnished and not much of that was useful to a traveller staying more than a day or two. Also the over large bath tub and shower was in the open room and right next to the bed and the tiny toilet cubical was almost without room to manoeuvre. A larger person would have great difficulty with this feature.
The bed was very comfortable and the B&B in general is comfortable too. Breakfast is a social affair and the food is well prepared, well presented and good quality. The staff were friendly and helpful and all that you would expect from a well run B&B.
With all that is said above we did enjoy our visit and would recommend the Inn on Charlotte.
One point to note... parking is very tight - take a small car if possible.

Room Tip: Check the rooms to see what facilities you require and also the associated parking arrangements.

Thank you, this means a lot to us; especial since you have been to other B&Bs in St Augie and can compare with authority. Because each room at the Inn on Charlotte is different in both shape and size, this review will be very helpful to other travelers who are trying to choose the right room for them. We look forward to your review of the other 7 rooms, the next time you come to town.

My husband and I are both teachers so we are blessed to have 2 weeks off for the holidays! Before returning to "reality" we wanted to enjoy a night away! Grandma kept the kids and we enjoyed our first night in a bed and breakfast. I researched numerous ones online and am beyond thrilled that I chose The Inn on Charlotte. It was perfect. We stayed in the bungalow out back and I am so glad we chose that room. It has a private entrance and a cute little courtyard. And I must say that it was the cleanest hotel/motel room I have ever stayed in. The jetted tub was amazingly clean and I honestly loved the fake little fireplace. It was a cool night the night we stayed so we used the fireplace for a little while. I believe we dealt with Ann, I am not good with names, and she was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing, quiche, blueberry bread and mango soup. We ate dinner at Harry's right down the street and it was so good, crab cakes, mmmm. We only live an hour and a half away and have decided that we are going to make this our little getaway every few months. The hubby was a little concerned about privacy at a B&B but after our stay he had just as great a time as I did! Perfect! Totally recommended!

Thanks! Matt and Sarah, Deland, Fl

Room Tip: If you want privacy choose the bungalow. It is small, but if you don't plan on being in your roo...

What a wonderful way to end 2012 and welcome the New Year! Our 3 night stay at The Inn on Charlotte was perfect! This was our first visit to St. Augustine and we made an excellent choice.
The Inn is well located and walking distance to the best dining, shopping and attractions. We parked our car and never took it out until it was time to leave! Our thanks to Rodney for a gourmet breakfast every morning - delicious combinations. Ginny, our hostess, was superb and such a sweetheart! We enjoyed talking with the other guests every afternoon while we enjoyed wine, coffee, cookies and more. Thank you to Jerry and Ann also for their recommendations for dining around town. We stayed in the Henry Flagler Verandah suite on the 2nd floor with its own porch - loved it! We have already reserved 3 nights again for the 2013 New Years weekend and are looking forward to making this trip every year. Michael & Maureen, Bonita Springs, FL

Room Tip: We peaked at several of the rooms - they are all charming & cozy!

The hospitality and the cleanliness were amazing here just like all of the other reviews!!! Owners so pleasant and welcoming. I would absolutely stay here again when we come to St. Augustine and recommend to anyone coming to St. Augustine. We stayed in the Diamond Lil suite, the bathtub and the bath salts they give you were such a great touch. The entire place was rented out and it did not seem overcrowded at all. The Inn and city were beautifully decorated for Christmas/New Years, weather nice and chilly. I normally do not use the tub in a hotel but it was very clean and I felt very comfortable. I would also recommend bringing your robe--I did and was so happy because it added to the jacuzzi tub experience. The 5-6p happy hour was great to meet with the other guests and added to the charm--they were all repeat guests too which is a great sign. The wine was very nice and BIG full glasses always getting refilled. My husband enjoyed the beer too. I even saw one of the guests purchase a gift certificate for a family member to give as a gift-wow! We loved sitting and people watching on the front porch too. You are so close to EVERYTHING, you don't need to use the car which was nice. We walked to the flagler college and did the tour, were able to check out the fort, all the local shops and neighborhoods, Hyppo ice pop shop was great, excellent dinner locations (Harrys was our favorite in courtyard, OC Whites, SPY for sushi, La Pentolo) with live music singers/acoustic guitars and violin. My husband LOVED their little pretzel sticks that are complimentary out in the living area and I indulged in their homemade chocolate chip cookies too--yummm. Breakfast was fabulous, frittata our favorite, the waffles with bananas and special syrup great too. Beds were extremely comfortable, and the temp was right at night (not too hot or cold) feather pillows (if you need a firm one then bring your own). Oh, and the parking for our room was in a close lot which I thought at first may be an annoyance but it was no trouble at all and so close. Jinny was great:) We will be coming back!

Room Tip: We got a chance to peek in at all the rooms, they all were great. We are hoping to get a balcony ne...

The Inn on Charlotte was a wonderful place to stay. The Inn was immaculate. The location was perfect! We hadn't stayed in an Inn before so we were not sure what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. Rod was so accommodating, I have severe food allergies and he went above and beyond making sure I could eat breakfast each day. Next year we hope to be back for the Flotilla Parade.
