“Highly Recommended!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I loved it here. My boyfriend and I decided to get away for a couple days and we picked Alexander Homestead B and B. I'm really glad we did. This was my first B and B and if I stay at another, they have big shoes to fill. Our room was amazing with a lot of natural light and a huge porch that I sat on Sunday morning and had coffee. There was a pot of coffee sitting outside our room at 7:45am before breakfast was served at 9am. There was complimentary soda, wine, and brandy right outside the room as well. Our first course was fresh fruit, yogurt, and homemade granola by Bonnie. Then, on Saturday, we had Eggs Pequot (sp?). It reminded me of eggs benedict and was simply amazing. This also came with bacon and fruit. On Sunday, we had the best French toast I've ever had. The bottom was crispy and there was a homemade almond butter that topped it. No need for maple syrup! Bonnie and her other employees were very friendly and Bonnie sat with us on Sunday and had coffee. This B and B was within walking distance from St. George St. and away from all the hustle and bustle. It was perfect. I would recommend this to anyone!

Room Tip: The shower in the Victoriana doesn't have great pressure.

I had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before last weekend, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon arrival, Bonnie and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and my boyfriend and I loved having a private front porch. (We stayed in the Queen Anne room) We were so close to everything that we didn't use our vehicle from the time we checked in until the time we checked out! Bonnie had complimentary wine and brandy for the guests and the breakfasts were delicious. I will definitely be back to visit!

Went to Alexander Homestead B&B again and was again impressed with the Peace & Quiet
in the heart of St. Augustine historic district. We stayed in the HUGE Hideaway suite which has a full kitchen with granite countertops, a large living room, a king size bed with flat screen TV in the bedroom, and wraparound porch. They had complimentary wine and brandy too!
Breakfast was delicious and we met such friendly people!
You can walk to most everything including the visitor center, the trolley pickup, the old gate, and
local pubs where you can listen to music. We had dinner at The RainTree Restaurant which I highly recommend. It's about a half mile north of the Fort on US 1.

Room Tip: The Hideaway suite is over the garage behind the main house with it's own private entrance

It did not take long to wind down and feel relaxed at the Alexander Homestead. We liked that it was not in the heart of downtown but a short walk. It was quiet and very relaxing. The hospitali was great. The refrigerator was stocked with wine available to guests. Everything was clean.

Room Tip: The Queen Anne has a roomy balcony that we used a lot.

Bonnie was a sweet heart. The energy of the place was so peaceful. My husband and I stayed only one night. But it was revitalizing and just what the doctor ordered. We enjoyed a nice complementary glass of wine on the front porch swing as the sun set. We walked down to the old city for dinner and enjoyed a beautiful evening walk back. That morning, we had coffee ready just outside of the door at 8am. We opened the French style doors that lead to the private balcony. My husband and I rocked in the rocking chairs as we sipped on our coffee. The birds were even singing their morning sonnet welcoming us into the day. Ahhhh.... life is great. We then ate an awesome family style breakfast of French toast, fresh fruit topped with homemade granola and a frittata. The family style environment was ripe for great conversation with our temporary neighbors in the other rooms. All six of us were having such a great time, we ended up spending an hour and half enjoying the company of what used to be complete strangers. Perfect get away.

Room Tip: We stayed in the victoriana

Located on a quiet street but in easy walking distance to all attractions & restaurants. Loved the Queen Anne room with private balcony - it was great to sit out there on an evening enjoying the complimentary wine, soft drinks or apricot brandy!
Breakfast was different to the normal egg & bacon or continental, freshly cooked different each day and the warm muffins were to die for!!
Would not stay anywhere else when we return to St Augustine.

My husband & I stayed for a weekend in the "Victoriana" room. It was cozy and quiet, loved the private balcony area. The inn was neat, everything was in it's place but, it was a little dusty. The house is close enough to walk to St. George St., but far enough away from the downtown noise. Bonnie was a gracious hostess. We enjoyed the breakfasts, especially her homemade granola! We would stay here again.
