This was our second stay at the Alexander Homestead and it was every bit as lovely as our first stay. My husband and I spent the weekend here for our anniversary and found it to be quiet and peaceful and such a nice time away from home.
The location of the Alexander Homestead provides the best of both worlds with the quiet street and beautiful porches shaded by the oak trees. We spent a lot of time on the porch listening to the birds and enjoying the peace and quiet. We were also just minutes away from the excitement and buzz of the downtown atmosphere. Everything you could want to see or do is within walking distance.
We think this Bed and Breakfast is such a hidden treasure!
We will continue to join our lovely host, Bonnie, and stay at the Alexander Homestead for future occasions. She provides the perfect balance of privacy and attentiveness for all her guests...plus the breakfast is deliciously prepared and the rooms always cleaned to perfection.
Wonderful place to stay!

- Entering the Alexander Homestead through the picturesque front porch from the garden walkway you can hear strains of classical music and spy a small book of Emily Dickinson's poetry in the formal living room - rich with antiques and romance. This is a perfectly appointed inn, with five of the most inviting and romantic bedrooms that hint of lavender sachets and pale hues of vintage opulence.
