“The Cedar House Inn - A First-Class Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Dear Reader:

As guests at the Cedar House Inn, our appreciation of the immaculate condition in which this historic home is maintained was surpassed only by our gratification with the unrivaled hospitality provided by Cyndi. Our every need was sincerely accommodated, and Cyndi went so far as to bake extra cookies for my wife -- in the morning!

This has been our best stay at a bed and breakfast, and we have stayed in too many to recount.

We celebrated our 25th Anniversary at this super B&B! Gina, Guest Manager, welcomed us and was absolutely superb our entire stay. Also, Cyndi, the owner, made us feel like we were the only couple in the whole place. Superb, tasty breakfast. Extremely clean and spotless rooms. Bed is cozy and linens great in the Floridian Suite. Cyndi's recommendations for restaurants and sites to visit were spot-on! Nice location...we never moved our car. Cookies and other amenities are a nice touch. Both hosts seem to think of everything. We will be back, thanks.

We decided to spend a night at The Cedar House on our way to adopt a dog in Jacksonville. After researching the web, chose Cedar House for our accommodation and base to explore St. Augustine. Cindi the host is amazing and gave great recommendations. Who would stay at a hotel with smaller rooms when you can stay at the Cedar House. We like it so much, that when we had to stay an extra night in Jacksonville decided to drive back to St. Augustine to stay a 2nd night with Cindi.

There are absolutely no words to describe the wonderful and unforgettable experience that Cyndi and The Cedar House Inn gave my girlfriend Iani and I! I'm sure as you read through the reviews you will hear these words over and over again. Please be assured that there is no exaggeration whatsoever!!! My name is Michael and I owned a B&B in Miami Beach for 4 years. I've also traveled to places such as Ireland, Italy, Greece and Germany and stayed in various B&B'S and not a single one has come close to the amazing experience we enjoyed in The Cedar House Inn! Cyndi makes you feel as if you've just returned to your winter chalet, she makes you feel as your a part of her family and treats you as first class royalty!, and it doesn't stop there! As your shown to your luxurious suite the theme of royalty just continues to overflow throughout! Upon entering our hideaway we were greeted with chocolate goodies, the sweet smell of fresh air and an impressively decorated bright and elegant suite that we could only imagine in our sweetest of dreams! Once again, if your reading this review, you need to experience this magic for yourselves! There is no doubt that waking up to a 4 star breakfast is just a wonderful way to start any day and believe me when I say that it only got better as the days went by. Cyndi is a true artist in the kitchen and truly understands the meaning of putting others first! Imagine being a little hungry in the middle of the night, just wanting something to nibble on and you remember that Cyndi said there would be treats and wine available at all times! Coming down the steps to find brownies, cookies that are to die for and sweet wine to your hearts content! Ahhh, this is what it means to love life!
Forgive me for reminiscing but I must admit that I often find myself reliving that weekend of pure joy and contentment! Thank you Cyndi and staff for a wonderful and unforgettable stay! :)

The reviews are true! The property is well maintained and beautifully appointed. The location is tremendous for exploring St Augustine; park your car out back and you won't need to drive again until you check out. Guest rooms and linens are plush and clean. Our hostess Cyndi is so wonderful I feel I made a new friend. And that's because I did. We felt as if we were the most important guests in the house,. And to her credit, Cyndi made us feel that way even when we arrived late, in the middle of a wedding! As the wedding party made its way beyond the wraparound porch of this lovely Victorian and entered the awaiting row of horse drawn carriages, I felt as if I had been transported back in time: A time before chain hotels when a proprietor prepared fine food served elegantly, taking interest in each guest and doing her utmost to make your visit exceed all expectations. The aromas of fresh baked goods from the kitchen, crystal carafes of wine and a stock of cold soft drinks always available in the parlor come together with strong wifi and new flatscreens and dvd players in the rooms to give the perfect balance of old world charm and modern comforts.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Biscayne with its jacuzzi tub and four poster bed. Separate entrance to the upstair...

From the first view of the house, to the Lovely Cindi, who invited us into her home for a vacation, we felt so special and comfortable to stay at The Cedar House., She was the Hostess with the Mostest, We had a delightful time. The rooms are filled with warmth and charm from a different era which was beauty to our eyes. . Cindi was ready to meet all of our needs, questions and made suggestions of things to see and places to go. The Breakfast beat "The Ritz."
Thank You,
Joyce T.

My husband and I decided to stay here for our 10 yr Anniversary. We are so glad we did! The house was breathtaking, and Cyndi, the Innkeeper, was such a pleasure. She knew the restaurant we were dining at,(Collage--also HIGHLY recommended) and let them know it was our Anniversary so they would bring us a cande-lit dessert...such a sweet gesture! If I had more time, I would have spent an entire day with her! She had wonderful recommendations for us regarding "must sees", the rooms were immaculate (thanks to Gina), the 2 course-gourmet-breakfast was to die for, and it is within walking distance of everything you will want to see! We NEVER moved our car out of it's spot. If you want to find a place that will make you want to go back again and again, stay here!!!!
