“True Southern hospitality equals a heavenly Honeymoon.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2009

The St Francis Inn was the ideal place to spend my honeymoon. We could wander down late for a gourmet breakfast, lounge in the jacuzzi tub, enjoy the company of our fellow guests at happy hour... I could continue, but coming to the point, we felt very pampered and extremely comfortable with these nice people. All of the inkeepers were extremely helpful with suggestions on where to dine, making reservations for dinners and arranging transportation. Our stay was most enjoyable and we can't wait for the opportunity to return to the St Francis and beautiful St Augustine.

At the recommendation of a friend, we booked a room at the St. Francis Inn. We were not disappointed. From the wonderful room to the incredible food, it was the welcome sabbatical we were looking for. I enjoyed waking up on the cold January mornings, wrapping myself in a warm blanket and sitting out on the porch. At night you could hear the ghost tours tell stories outside and it just added to the mystery and comfort of this location. Just a short walk to the downtown historical district, it was close to everything!

We will definitely be going back and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to just get away from it all for a few days.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the St Francis Inn. Although the Inn is within walking distance of the shops and restaurants at the heart of St Augustine, it is far enough away from the tourist areas to be peaceful. Unusually for the area, there is a small car park for guests use. The breakfasts were good, and the snacks offered in the evening were a nice idea, and a great way to meet other guests. The down side was our room. It was dark and dingy, although beautifully furnished. The air conditioning in the room was also not under our control, but operated from reception. Although we asked for the air con to be switched off, as we were happy with the ceiling fan, it was left on one night and we were cold. There is a small swimming pool, but we didn't use it. The place is quaint and attractive. All in all I'd recommend this place and would stay there again. Only next time I'd select a different room.

My husband and I love St. Augustine. St. Augustine boasts some amazing sites and a wonderful historic ambiance. We came upon the St. Francis Inn in 2004 as we were strolling down St.George Street. At the time we were staying at another Inn in St.Augustine that was our favorite until it changed ownership and was renovated to a more modern Inn. When we saw the St. Francis Inn and its idea location we knew that we wanted to give it a try so in 2005 we stayed at the St.Francis Inn. We loved the old victorian feel of the houses, warm hospitality, location, privacy, amazing food and many more details than you would find at even a luxury hotel. We knew it was our new favorite Inn. Living overseas has not afforded us the opportunity to stay as often as we would like, but we have stayed twice more since 2005 and it will not be our last. St. Francis Inn is a little piece of heaven for us. We always leave refreshed and relaxed!

Located in St. Augustine's historic district the St Francis Inn takes you back in time. It is quiet, comfortable and we found the delightful staff went above and beyond in getting information we needed.
My wife and I enjoyed the breakfast selections, the late afternoon social hour appetizers as well as the excellent post dinner desserts. We'll go back for sure.

We have never been to a Bed and Breakfast before the St. Francis Inn. When you first see the inn, it has a peaceful feeling as you walk up to it. As you enter, the staff is so eager to meet you and give you the stay of a lifetime. The ambiance of the inn makes you feel like your being pulled back in time with the antique furniture and style of the rooms. I was diagnosed with cancer within the last year and went to the St. Francis Inn with my boyfriend for a getaway. St. Augustine has so much to offer for relaxion and history, but the St. Francis Inn is a whole experiance in itself. I couldn't help but feel well rested when we were there. Months later, it happened to be for our one year anniversary and we wanted to come back to the St. Francis Inn. We were welcomed by a complimentary bottle of champagne, fresh flowers and a note wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Both these times gave us wonderful memories that whatever obstacle life gives us, we can always look back at our time spent at the Inn and smile.

The warm and friendly staff not to mention the outstanding resident chief made our visit to St. Augustine truly special. Everyone took on the responsibility of insuring that we did not miss any of the unique venues in town and availed ourselves of dining spots that the locals appreciated.

Upon our departure Carolee of the dining staff even gave advice about the preferred scenic route and a special gallery to visit on our way south.

My wife and I appreciated the personal touch shown by the entire staff in contrast to the generic experience of an even 4-5* hotel.
