This is one of the most amazing places I ever seen. One of the docents explained the story to us and I then had a much better understanding of what Mr. Lightner had done. You will be amazed at this collection!

“Check out the Hair Jewelry!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Great old museum, building by Henry Flagler. Has a swimming pool inside that has been converted into a great little area for shops. It's cool to walk around the edge, and imagine what it was like swimming in the first indoor pool! Museum has great collections of strange and neat items!

“Many interesting and unique collectibles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

This was my second time here and I found it just as fun and fascinating. You could literally spend a good part of your day if not the whole day strolling through and reading all the tags. They have a music box demo at 10am and 2 pm.This Museum could be rather boring for young children. You wont see dinosaurs or space artifacts like some museums. I highly recommend the Lightner as one of your stops during your visit. I only wished they would have a self guided audio tour, which could explain some of the artifacts and its history.

“Creepy and Fascinating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Tons of fascinating Victorians artifacts on display ranging from glass and furniture to hair jewelry..eww...and stuffed lions. Excellent stop for people who like museums. It will take a couple of hours to get through. The museum is housed in an old hotel so it's an interesting layout. Also worth stopping in is the Alcazar which is a small bistro set in the hotel's old pool. The entire place screams of the height of Victorian luxury and for history buffs is worth the trip.

I love this museum! Its fascinating to see all of the artifacts and antiques from the Henry Flagler era. Prepare to spend at least a couple of hours to really appreciate all there is to see.
