My husband I decided to take our weekend getaway here despite all of the "all over the place" reviews. We booked our weekend with the all-inclusive package. Arriving Friday evening, and leaving Sunday afternoon, check out 11:00. Our weekend was absolutely wonderful....They greeted us when we pulled in like we were friends..The first night we used the valet parking due to a Music Festival that was going on down the street, so parking was limited..So by the end of the evening we decided to park in the free-self parking instead of paying $10.00 per day for valet. The first night that we arrived we got settled and then went to the restaurant for the dinner that was part of our package..we figured "all- inclusive" usually is a very limited selection, but to our surprise the menu for the all-inclusive was very nice. Choice of steak (yummy), Parmesan crusted Tilapia (yummy), three choices of pasta, or catch of the day(my husband had this, Mahi Mahi, he said it was yummy). There was also a vegetarian selection. You also got a nice salad, bread, choice of a vegetable -Green Beans, Carrots or Mixed Veggies (fresh veggies). Choice of a starch - Garlic Leek Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potato Mash or Wild Rice. (the garlic leek mashed potatoes were to dye for...yummy!!) And you also got a choice for dessert...(the chocolate cheese cake was yummy!!) The breakfast buffet was also great..made to order omelets, and lots of other great choices for your sides...ohhh, and the coffee is wonderful... They give you a bracelet at check in to wear so the staff at the hotel know that you are part of the all-inclusive for your meals and for free soda, tea, water..etc...you also get the "alcohol-drink of the day" for free. First day was gin & tonic, second day was whiskey sour, and last day was vodka & lemonade...If you didn't like those you could get draft beer or wine for $2.00. Then there is the spa.... Package included 25 minute spa selection, we received the massage....They were so nice in the spa. Treated us like we were "Members of the Club", which they do have club memberships for the locals.. The massage was wonderful!! They do charge an 18% service fee for each of the meals that you have and for the spa service. Which part of it is gratuity to the server, and part goes to the resort. I had no issues with it, the total fees worked out to about $60.00 for the whole weekend. But to us, where would you get two wonderful dinners, two wonderful breakfasts, two massages and all your drinks free for two people for $60.00?? So to us the fee/gratuity was worth it!! As far as some of the other reviews having issues with the smell, or water stained ceilings, we only saw one area in the lobby. As far as the smell, this place is old , but a good old..it has a lot of history. Just ask the staff and they will guide you to things and places to see (One of the towers has a preserved room from many, many, many years ago) Very cool to see!!!.....We will definitely be planning another trip here!!
