“Home Town cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Was a good place for just a good breakfast. Not fancy but a place that was home-town cooking. Price was inexpensive and a good value. Service was quick and food was good. We only had breakfast, but by the appearance of the menu lunch and dinner would be good too. The place always had cars in the parking lot each time we went past. This is the kind of palce one would stop daily for a meal.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Popi's Place V is one of five Popi's Place restaurants in the area. This one is in an old Pizza Hut building. The restaurant is like a mom and pop one, with daily specials and great food. It is one of our favorited places to eat in the Ruskin/Sun City Center area.

As of Feb 2012 they generally have a $5 breakfast special that includes 2 eggs, several strips of bacon or sausage patties or links, potatoes or grits, and toast or a very large biscuit - and coffee. Great breakfast at a great price. Their biscuits and sausage gravey are hard to beat.

Although we eat there for breakfast most of the time, we also go there for lunch and dinner. The fried chicken is great. Some days they have a lemon rice chicken soup that is wonderful.

Complaints? I have three. (1) It is too noisy and needs acoustic ceiling. (2) They have the same vegetable on the same day of the week. For example every Sunday they have Italian green beans. They are good, but I would like an alternate at times. (3) They only offer fish and chips for lunch. They are good and should be available for dinner.

If you have been to one of the other Popi's Place restaurants, you will know their food is good.
