Recently bought a second home in Punta Gorda and found this little gem today! So excited to find Japanese food in Punta Gorda, and some of the best sushi I have EVER had. The fish was melt in your mouth fresh and you just can't fake it when the fish is raw, can you! I had a rainbow roll, which is a california type roll with slices of four varieties of raw fish atop, garnished with a paper thin slice of avocado. Also had spider maki, the soft shell crab, lightly coated and fried, had extra crabmeat mixed into the rice . . . delicious. My daughter ordered a luncheon dish (don't remember the name of it) which came in a large graceful bowl, with rice on the bottom, a lightly breaded and fried piece of chicken breast, topped with what tasted like an egg foo young mixture and a slightly creamy sauce . . . the chicken was so tender I could pick a piece from the whole using just my chopsticks! Service was efficient and very polite, the sushi chef is quite friendly and was talking about the current price for tuna with one of the (obviously regular) customers. All in all a very comfortable ambiance, with excellent food (and I am very critical) and a place I know I will frequent whenever I am in town.
