“Great Place to Break Journey / Big Rooms / Unbeatable Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

If you need to break your journey on the I-95 north of West Palm Beach, you will find lots of exits such as Jupiter and Stuart. Do not stop in those towns since their hotels are just as pricey as staying in West Palm Beach.
Drive 18 minutes north of Stuart to the Port St. Lucie exit, and stay at this super SpringHill Suites, a Marriott Property.

2 Minutes off the I-95, it is surrounding by restaurants like Ruby Tuesdays and is walking distance to Chili's (they share a parking lot). It is also less than a 1 minute drive to an outdoor mall, featuring Ross, Wal-Mart, and other stores. Yet the hotel is very quiet, since it is not right beside the interstate. The 2 minute drive away from it helps with the quietude.

The rooms are like most SpringHill Suites: separate bedrooms, separate working/office areas. And the free wireless internet speed is high. Download all you want. There is also a fridge and microwave, which really helps if you want to bring your own food. The rooms are also soundproof, which allows for a great sleep. People complaining about it being run down are Male Divas who need to stop whining and start paying "W" Hotel prices if that's what they want (but of course they won't pay for luxury, and will whine when they don't get it).

The staff is friendly and will help you out if you need it. They make sure to offer you the bonus Marriott points. The only drawback that costs this place one star is that there is only 1 elevator. That is a bit of a pain.

Last, but not least, is the unbeatable price. It is almost $50 less per night than the Courtyard in Stuart (where the rooms are almost 1/2 the size despite the higher price). You might have to drive 18 minutes more North on the I-95, but saving $50 with bigger and better rooms, plus a microwave, plus all those restaurants and shopping is so worth it. Thank you SpringHill Suites. :)

The pull out sofa bed was a disgrace and the room is totally out of date.

As a platinum member at Marriott I called down stairs and asked for some more towels because there were only 3 in the room. The attendant responded very rude "you can come get them yourself"

Also when checking in they had no idea on how to use a gift card to pay my bill.

Just a shame for a hotel in this "range"

The location is great filled with restaurants, shops, bowling and movies. You are in waking distance of Chilis, Outback and Friendlys. The hotel offers breakfast but Frienslys is a great option if you miss the free breakfast. Great value and location.

I stayed here recently for business. Check in was great - nice and smooth, super efficient. Asked for a room close to a colleague that was travelling with me. Was able to be placed directly across the hall from each other which was nice.

Room itself was close to gross. Found toenail clippings by couch, dirty toilet seat & smell of mildew. AC was very loud and annoying. No hot water for shower...had to settle for lukewarm.

On the plus side: Paul Mitchell shampoo & conditioner!

Room Tip: The room I had on the 4th floor was very quiet (other than AC being loud)

1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

When we arrived late in the evening we were alerted that our room was given to another customer because we were not Marriott Rewards members and they had overbooked our type of room. This happened at 7:30 am but did not alert us until we arrive. So we had to settle for a double bed suite instead of a king suite. When we get to our room it was nothing like the picture showed. The couches look to be 25 years old, the bathroom was not clean, and the entire suite had a mildew smell to it. Stayed in it 10 min and couldn't stand it so decided to leave. Luckily for us there was a Holiday Inn Express across the way, 100% cleaner and well maintained. Paid a little more but was well worth it.

Room Tip: Book your room at Holiday Inn Express just steps away.
