When we checked in we were assigned to a room, but when we opened the door there was such an offensive odor that we didn't even go in. After a 20 minute wait., we were assigned to what we were told was the last available room. The bathroom had an overpowering odor of mold. One of the pillow cases had a brown stain on it and the air conditioner vent was full of a gray "fuzzy" substance. Since we had a dinner date and were already running late and had no time to look for another hotel, we stayed. In the morniing after breakfast we used the public restrooms which had not been serviced. When I shared my concerns with the Assistant Manager, she denied the problems but also kept blaming everything on last year's hurricanes. She seemed unwilling to admit that any of the problems existed, yet made numerous excuses. This exoerience is not reflective of the usual high standards of Hampton Inns however, I would not recommend this property to anyone.
