“It was a nice B&B, but I doubt if I would come back.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2011

The breakfast's both days were terrific!! I did find it odd that on Saturday afternoon I kept ringing the bell for a manager to get an iron and an ironing board. I finally gave up.....I come to find out later in the evening that all three went out and still were not back. I even turned the foyer lights on at 8:30PM, for some lights inside. YIKES!! Every room was taken and they go out. I thought it would have been nice to have cheese & crackers or even pretzels for an evening snack when everyone goes out to the back deck to relax with the beverage of your choice. We went on the living social deal for 1/2 off, I would think they would pull all the stops out so you would recommend the place. Also our blinds on the front window did not have anything to close or open them. Plus a little dusting would have gone along way on the wood blinds in the room.

Room Tip: Best room would be the scalloroom.

Capesanblasinn, General Manager at Cape San Blas Inn, responded to this review, August 17, 2011
After reading our most recent review from Jennifer of Alpharetta, Ga. the owner and staff of The Cape San Blas Inn would like to offer our most sincere apologies for what was apparently an unpleasant two night experience for Joe and Jennifer.

We do however, fail to understand why Jennifer finds it necessary to enter a somewhat vindictive review about The Cape San Blas Inn on Trip Advisor rather than expressing their
issues personally with the management.

It is more than apparent, after taking the time to read our 59 previous reviews, that the management of The Cape San Blas Inn takes their obligations to the guests of the Inn very seriously as well as making every attempt to service them appropriately and promptly.

As we are all aware, extenuating circumstances at times may occur to prevent the attention that ALL GUESTS of The Inn deserve. That is why we must wonder and take umbrage with Jennifer's comments regarding the apparent lack of service and attention provided to her and her husband, and why she was so reluctant to express her negative feelings to the management personally.

As to the lack of management being available to furnish an iron and ironing board, ( of which both are made available to our guests upon request ) please understand that we are operating a 7 room bed & breakfast, as opposed to a Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, etc., all of whom enjoy a 24 hour staff in attendance. On the occasion in question, it was found necessary for the managers to attend to business elsewhere. Our emergency mobile phone number is clearly posted at the office door and could have been easily accessed by Jennifer or any other guest if necessary.

As to the snacks, cheese and crackers, etc., we find that, by and large our guests do not spend a great deal of time lounging at The Inn, due to the fact that our area enjoys a most pristine beach and bay, restaurants and shopping districts for their active times.

To all prospective guests, please take the time to read our Trip Advisor reviews and make your decision to visit with us, based on the honest comments provided by so many prior visitors.

If you are looking for peace, beauty, superb breakfast (eggs Benedict!!!), comfort and wonderful people (George and Betty), you definitely are at the right place! Located only 2-3 minutes from the sugar powder beach of St-Joseph peninsula, Cape San Blas Inn offers romantic rooms, bicycles, canoes & kayaks. And if you are a seafood lover, have a meal at the local restaurant Indian Pass Raw Bar! Best crab legs, shrimps & oysters! George will tell you about it, the only thing you have to do is to enjoy!

Room Tip: Clean, comfortable, romantic, rustic

From check-in to breakfast til the day comes when it's time to check-out, I dare say you will not find a more warm and pleasant place to stay than the Cape San Blas Inn. Mr. George and Mrs. Betty are the perfect hosts and eager to make your stay the best ever. The breakfasts are simply amazing and very delicious along with the tea and coffee that are also served. Mr. George gives the option of serving you breakfast in your room, serving you outside on the deck or serving you along with the other guests at the dining room table. To each his own but it is such a pleasurable experience to meet the other guests at breakfast and share experiences and recommendations for things to do and places to eat lunch and dinner. I don't believe there is anyone in this world that would not be smiling after having spent just a few seconds conversing with Mr. George. My girlfriend and I highly recommend that you stay here and meet these wonderful people. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I stayed at the Cape San Blas Inn in July to celebrate our Anniversary. We really enjoyed the daily breakfasts (Eggs Benedict and Stuffed French Toast) prepared by the Innkeepers George and Betty. They were a perfect way to start our days activities.
George and Betty are just wonderful. They are there if you need them for something but never pushy in any way and really know the area well.
The rooms were wonderful and my wife commented that she hardly ever sleeps soundly away from home but on the beds at the Inn she slept very well. We took the Inn's two-man kayak into the bay and snorkeled and found a variety of welks, starfish and other shells in the grasses and sandy beds in the bay inlet. We took a trip with Seahorse Safari out of Port St. Joe, FL nearby to snorkel near the tip of the Cape on the bay side and had a wonderful time. We also spent a day on St. George's Island shelling and several evenings in Apalach (Apalachicola, FL) dining at the local restaurants, and trying the variety of preparations of the local oysters and seafood. It was a wonderful trip, we love the Cape and will be back.

Just a short review to say that we loved our stay here--came with sister and brother in law for 3 days/2 nights. George the innkeeper makes the place--friendly, intelligent, hospitable, and hilarious. Just watch out if you are from Michigan...(inside joke--you'll have to ask George) It is clean and the home cooked breakfast is out of sight. We found out about it through Living Social where we got a great discount on the rate. Slleep number beds in all the rooms!

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice and clean--more expensive ones are a little bigger and have large flat screen...

Spent a weekend here in March 2010 and came back again July 2011. George and Betty made for a wonderful stay both times (we only went back because of them). They are caring, friendly and all around great people. The food at breakfast was fantastic as was the atmosphere they created. The only downside to our trip this year was finding out that George and Betty are leaving :-( Teri and I wish them good luck in their new venture up in New Jersey.

Just returned yesterday from a long weekend at the San Blas Inn. What can I say? The rooms were charming and clean. George and Betty were the most gracious hosts I have encountered in my travels. The breakfasts were marvelous. I want to go back already.
