It's definitely not Vegas or even Atlantic City, but it is great for a fun night out for what it it.
Adjacent to Pompano Park Race Track, it beats the smoke-filled Native American casinos in Broward County.
Went on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Valet parking is free and the valets are courteous and efficient.
The "new" buffet features a wide variety of ethnic dishes and everything from sushi, shrimp, Italian, Chinese, and Mexican to pizza, salads, Thai, steak, and desert was freshly prepared and tasty. Wine and beer are included. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Pleasantly surprised at how quickly our table was cleared of the used plates and glasses. The food service areas were kept very clean.
We'll go back to try the Sunday champagne brunch and the Friday/Saturday seafood buffet. And, of course, try our luck, again.
A good variety of slots and a large poker room for those who enjoy the competition of a live opponent. No table games, yet. Florida gave the Seminole Hard Rock Casino (also in Broward County) a five year exclusive for table games. After that, all other casinos can, presumably, have them as well. Live music most nights.
This is not a "destination" casino, since there is no hotel on the property. But for vacationers to the Ft. Lauderdale area, locals, and snowbirds, it's a very relaxing and different night out. (The slots pay about a 92% return, so you can play a good while without having to constantly feed the "bandit."
