The front desk people acted like i was putting them out at check in and out.

The so called greek reastraunt staff were rude and i paid 5$ for a can of beer.

If you want a good dining experience wander out a little their are some good reasraunts nearby.

The hotel was rundown but you get what you pay for.Pool was nice.

And also it is beyond me why you have to rent beach chairs it should be for the hotel guest to use for free,I have never had to pay for such things.

I must admit the reviews I read before booking were true, but...we did have a wonderful time. After all, you make your own fun, and all we intended to do was hit the beach and the pool all day. As far as those two requirements, the pool and beach are perfect. Yes, we also had a difficult time getting towels and thankfully someone posted it's a good idea to bring your own beach towels. They have several maids and obviously they have different duties. All maids do not have all needed supplies. The one maid did clean our room very well each day. (sweeping up all of the sand was very appreciated)

We are smokers (I know, I know, no lectures please) but we did book a smoking room and waited 1 1/2 days to get an ashtray from the staff. We tried to fish our own ashtray out of the ocean, but alas, they don't have huge clam shells there like they do here in NJ!

Anyway, after enjoying the pool and the beach, we spent the rest of our time sightseeing and found this location to be perfect. To the left of the hotel is Ft Lauderdale and only took us about 15 scenic minutes to get there. To the right of the hotel is Deerfield Beach, which took about the same amount of time and is a cute little beach town along the water.

There is only ONE ice machine (on the 3rd floor) in the whole resort (?) God forbid it ever goes on the fritz. We were next to the "game/vending" room, but there is not one single game. Naturally the vending machines are pricey and at least one had a sign "out of order" the entire time. If you are traveling with kids and it happens to rain, better have brought your own games!

I was unable to get a hot full stream shower the whole time I was there, but I survived. The beds are uncomfortable and our backs were a little sore in the morning. We never tried out the restaurant because there was too many other places that were more appealing in the area.

My husband and I joked about everything the whole time because none of it really mattered, we were away and enjoying ourselves.

I do not believe this place will be around much longer because there are condos everywhere and a sign in the front even states that the hotel is under consideration.....

Oh, one more thing, there is NO computer for use in their lobby, so we had to go to another hotel to check in on our airlines before we left.

We booked our trip last minute and wasn't to picky. We read the reviews and they were on both ends of the spectrum. Well here is the real deal. July '07. The resort is located on the beach. The pool is nice. My experience with the staff was good. They are stingy with towels and wash cloths though. If you stay in the "standard" room WATCH OUT. They are in desperate need of updates. The 1st 2 nights we were in the " standard" room and there is no microwave, refridgerator, hair dryer, or iron. This was a bit of a disappointment. The worst part was the fact that mostly all the outlets in the room didnt work. The matresses are cheap and non supportive. the pillows are about 1/2 size of a standard pillow. We checked out of the standard room and upgraded to a beach front room. This is definitly the ticket. We changed our whole perspective. The rooms were nice. We could walk right out on the beach. rooms had dryers, refridg, and a microwave. Still though cheap mattress. The upgrade was $20. and well worth it. The resturant was not to appealing. We had breakfast which was not impressive for the price. (The place for breakfast is "Country Ham and Eggs!" Superb!!!!!)
My wife and I stopped in for a drink at the resort, and we were charged $10. a drink!!!! I questioned it be cause usually we found drinks to be $5 to $6 dollars. Well we were told it was Greek night. And this was why they were sticking it to us. We didnt go back. The drinks were horrible. Need new bartender. All and all. Definitly needs updates. Liked the location. You need a car it is a bit out of the way from the main stream of things. I dont think we would go back. I would hope there are better places for the price.

“spend the extra $50 elsewhere”

Paradise Beach Resort and Club

There is no justification for spending your hard-earned money here. I know it's cheap, and compared to many hotels in the area that seems like a good deal, but it's not. It's not just the reviews, the photos, or the fact that the place is old and hasn't been renovated since it was built. It quickly becomes apparrent that everyone who works here would rather be elsewhere - home, sleeping, or on the moon. Now I am not trying to say they were bad-tempered, but they certainly weren't happy, or polite or much of anything other than doing as little as possible. If you have a room complaint, forget it. They hear them all day long and they don't want to hear yours.

You can't stay at the pool at all, unless you are deaf. They had some psycho woman singing poolside all day long, and she was awwwwful. Not even bad, just brutal. People would run from the pool and come back when she was done - after a 3 hour set, then scatter away when she returned.

Not only all this but the parking lot only holds about 21 cars, so you have to park across the street - sorry it's not a street - it's a highway. Cars going by at 70 miles an hour and you with your luggage on a four lane highway looking to cross. Let me tell you, we got most of our laughs watching other couples scatter across the road.

I can't say it was worth it, other than the plentiful sun. Which you can get anywhere in the area.
