My overall stay: I Saved some money AND I stayed on the beach.

1) Keep in mind Florida had one of the worst hurricanes in 2005 (Wilma), and private places like this are still suffering from the damages(but no excuse for inside..)

2)Yes, some of the rooms might be old. Definitely not updated when it comes to "style", but if you want fancy, I guarantee you wont find it for this amount and this location. Keep in mind, in a few years there wont be hotels like this because more and more hotels are being upgraded, remodeled, or rebuild. THIS IS A BARGAIN.

3)If you book online, and something goes wrong, don't blame the hotel. Online companies have nothing to do with the hotel itself.

4) LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Simple.

5) Don't forget: the Restaurant and the jet ski place in the beach are not affiliated with the actual hotel. You hear a complain for them, don't include the hotel.

6) This hotel is not for people that plan on doing nothing but just staying in the room and the beach. GET OUT AND VISIT SOUTH FLORIDA! This place is better if you see it as a place that you can sleep in, simple. This hotel is best for families or couples that can't afford that big vacation, but still wants to visit Florida. Remember, Orlando is 3 hours away and South Beach about 45 minutes.

7) Remember, you have an option to move your room, upgrade your view, and pay extra for a cot or/and an efficiency. Also, maintenance is always there to help you out with anything. Before complaining, try resolving the problem.

Overall: People will usually complain more than actually make compliments. This is a great place if you want to walk to a quiet, private beach; and want to save some money without giving up a beautiful location; Don't expect 5 starts if your not you're not paying for 5 starts.

“Believe it...it is worse than BAD!!”

Paradise Beach Resort and Club

I'm sketical about bad reviews because I know some people have higher expectations than others, so I let my better judgement run away and I booked this place to stay on the beach for the price (how bad could it be afterall?), but this place was even worse than all the bad reviews I read about before my foolish booking. This is truly the kind of place you worry about someone peeing in the icecube tray, ya know what I mean?
I can't even begin to list all that was wrong with this place as nothing I write can help you sense just how bad this place really is!
Our sliding door had no weather stripping so hot air and sounds poured in.
Outside ceilings above tiny balconies are badly cracked and patched and looked dangerous to stand out on.
UGH...long hair found on floor in restroom and pillows stunk of vinegar! OMG...what was that stink anyway?!!
Tub chipped and stained inside and door warped/stained.
No vent in restroom and closet door didn't even close.
Door lock quit working and front desk person gave us the MASTER KEY to try!! Let us walk away with access to EVERYONE's room because no one was available to help us...we are honest, but the safety issue floored me!
Tile in pool is horribly cracked.
Whole resort stunk and food on floor remained there for whole stay.
Pictures in hallway are all the same picture!! How's that for cheap?
If you are used to $3 motels, then you'll be delighted here...if not, not even the proximity to the beach is worth losing all your valuables. Spend the extra $40 to stay at a reputable and better maintained resort on the beach.

I went to Paradise Beach Resort as a long weekend get-away in the middle of a cold Wisconsin winter and got exactly what I expected. I knew when I booked that the hotel hadn't been remodled in quite a while and that was obvious when I checked in. The room didn't smell like smoke to me which I was worried about, but it was on the small side. There was nowhere to hang my clothes- only a dresser- and the "closet" had no door or other covering. The safe that was advertised was an additional charge and had signs of rust on it! BUT I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is not planning on spending a lot of time in their room. You CANNOT beat the location!!! We were on the first floor, and while our patio door was extremely difficult to open once we did we walked out onto a small patio with chairs. The pool was about 40 feet away to our right and the ocean was about 150 feet away to our left. We had an AWESOME time, the private beach was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. There were also jet-skis and surfboards available for rent. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant the day we left and were quite happy with our meal. The location of the hotel is great also as far as restaurants and souviner shops. I would most definatly stay at this hotel again! I would recommend Damon's BBQ for dinner, their ribs were incredible- the meat just melted off the bone and our waiter was great.

“Hated It”

Paradise Beach Resort and Club

I am not sure which was worse the rude staff, leering foreign owners, outrageous food and beverage prices, or the dirty, unkept rooms. We had to ask for wash cloths everyday for four days to be brought to our room because the houekeeping staff would only at most leave one wash cloth for a double occupancy room. One day we had no towels, bath or wash cloths at all. When we would ask the housekeeping ladies for more they would laugh in our faces and talk to each other about us in their native tongue. No one in the complex spoke English and all were very rude from the family members who owned the motel, front desk help, and housekeeping. The prices were outrageous and 18% gratuity was tacked on to everything. Mold had taken over the balconies, drawers were broken in the chest, the bathtub and toilet were all scratched up like someone was trying to claw their way out. We had to ask for cups and an ice bucket. Everything on the beach that you figured would be included in your motel package i.e. beach lounge chairs, had to be rented out. I think the only thing that was included in the motel stay was access to the ocean, how generous of them!

While the Paradise Beach Resort was no five star hotel, it was also more than worth the $152 per night. Our room was immaculate, the service was phenominal, and the beach and pool were trully amazing! our view from our room of the pool and ocean was worth every penny more of the five dollars.

If you wish for a five star resort then go ahead and dish out $400 a night, but for the money this place was well worth it.

The food at Milo's Taverna was excellent, but opt for breakfast and lunch from the tiki menu, it's much cheaper. However, authentic greek cuisine is far from cheap.

On that note, we will be back, a true gem!!
