I could go on about how terrible this place is...but to put it in perspective I can say it should be shut down for health code violations. It was just plain dirty everywhere! I believe the carpets have never been cleaned. The list of dirty and broken things could go on and on..Do people justice and SHUT DOWN!

Simply put, this is the most disgusting place I've ever stayed at. The entire building smelled terrible, the bathroom was neither clean nor well-maintained. The carpet was SOOOO dirty that I was afraid to walk on it barefoot. The kitchenette was so filthy there was no way I would eat or drink anything that had been stored or prepared there (which, of course, defeats the purpose of having it in the room). The only reason we stayed was because the Super Bowl crowds made it impossible to get a room anywhere else. I recommend that you stay ANYWHERE else. Spend a few extra dollars and enjoy yourself. This place is the worst!!

“Never Again”

Paradise Beach Resort and Club

Paradise .... I don't think so. We stayed on the first floor of the Paradise Resort, which is a building that has endured the Atlantic for 30 plus years but now has reached the end of its useful life. We paid $150 per night and endured a 3 day stay. Our room was dirty. The carpets were stained. The once white lamp shades were yellow and frayed. One had an uncorrectable tilted due to a broken light fixture. And in keeping with the decor, the end table lamps didn't match . Housekeeping didn't leave us towels on our second day. We asked the front desk for towels and were told they didn't have any. We insisted and did get towels later in the day. The room and the hallway leading to the room had the aroma of strawberrys, which was masking the underlying aroma of mold. The sliding glass door leading to the pool and beach was nearly impossible to slide. The small refrigerator froze everything. The bathtub didn't have a stopper, but that wasn't such a big deal since it didn't drain either. The fitted sheet didn't fit and kept coming off all night. We almost had breakfast at the resturant....we ordered and received our meal, but then when I opened up the catsup, it exploded from internal pressure and splattered all over us. The waitress said "oh, what a shame", and left the seemingly fermenting catsup to decorate the next unsuspecting customer. At that point, we left Paradise.

“Very expensive for the Quality of the Stay”

Paradise Beach Resort and Club

Jan 4, 2007

Just got back today from Paradise Beach Resort Pompano....reviews I read in advance are pretty accurate. We had 2 efficiencies on the second floor; first room was horrifically dirty and smelly, but our 2 teenagers wanted it because the wireless worked being so close to the lobby. Second room was cleaner, but a/c worked poorly and bathroom lighting had to be fixed 4 times in 6 days. Every day of our stay I had to ask at least once for bath towels, toilet paper and the like. Rooms are not often cleaned until 4pm, or occasionally not at all. On the up side, staff were always prompt in meeting our requests, and you can't beat the view of the ocean even from the poolview rooms. Because the rest of the hotel was so run-down and dirty, we didn't risk eating at the hotel, although other guests said it was good and reasonably priced. Despite 80 degree sunny days, the pool was too cold to use at all, even for my Canadian kids who are used to swimming in the lakes of northern Ontario...I suspect the pool had a leak and needed regular topping up. Grounds were clean, beach is beatiful but quite a lot of garbage. The hotel is not located very near to any restaurants of note or shopping. Car is a must.

“GREAT for a flop and drop vacation”

Just returned from Paradise Beach and like other reviews you may read, the hotel does need some work. However, our room was great, clean with microwave and fridge with ocean view. The maid service was super.

IF you go to this hotel, rent a car! We didn't at first and since we didn't want to eat all our meals at the hotel. We walked to Walgreens, which the hotel staff said was only a 1/2 mile; it was a mile and 1/2 if it was anything, and bought lunchmeat, bread, sodas, snacks etc. to have lunches on the beach and snack in our room. Took a cab back. This worked out great for us. BUT we did get tired of being trapped at the hotel. There are no restaurants fast food or otherwise close by.

We had one bad weather day and rented a car for the day. This was great. They picked us up at the hotel and took us to the rental car place. We were able to have fast food and a nice tour of Pompano Beach for $35.00 for car rental.

We had no complaints about the hotel or the service. The nite desk clerk was a little sullen but the day gal was wonderful. Restaurant food was good, but a little pricey $22.00 for 2 hamburgers for lunch with no booze. We went to the Sea Watch for our anniversary which was outstanding both food and atmosphere. Took a cab $5.00 each way. Well worth it.

The facility does need some major work, but many of the hotels in this area do as well. 3 major hurricanes in 14 years have taken their toll. Our room was cleaned and beach towels were available at the front desk. We were there to rest, get some rays and re-charge. The facility was SUPER for that., and the pool and hot tub were clean and very nice and we never paid to get a chair on the beach.

Would we stay there again....yep...the price was right, but would definitely rent a car .
