We stayed a week at the Paradise beach resort, and we did have a good time, but as far as lodging, I will definitely spend the extra few bucks next time. We had no hot water for half the week! The hotel is in dire need of remodeling. The tiki bar was never open, and when it was, it was a challenge to get service. The pool, hot tub and location were great, but there are plenty of other options as far as beachfront hotels in Florida go!

A good bang for your buck! we have stayed here 5 times in the last 3 years and will return again YES, hotel and rooms are very dated and in need of a major remodel but balcony views from the pool ocean side rooms are second to none! breathtaking sunrises, decent pool and very close proximity to one of the nicest beaches we have seen in florida. stay away from greek restaurant on site. it is overpriced and not that great in quality and portions try stingers sports bar and grill one mile north in plaza. open for a good breakfast too! try the ''helen s'' drift fishing boat at hilsboro islet 4 miles north for a great half day trip

When my boyfriend and I and our two friends were deciding where to go on vacation, we based our decision on three main things: we wanted a good price, we wanted the hotel to be on the beach, and we wanted it to be in a good location with lots of things to do. Pompano Beach Resort & Club offered all of this.
Sure, they haven't remodeled in years, and the decor needed some help. Yes, the bathrooms are on the worn side. But for the price we paid for an ocean front hotel, you really can't beat it. Before we left for our trip, we read a lot of the reviews on here about how worn the hotel rooms were. When we got there, we found that it really wasn't as bad as we were expecting. The rooms are pretty big and they all have balconies.
Because we didn't go during prime tourist season, we practially had the place to ourselves. We rarely saw anyone else in the pool or on the beach, and we never had to wait for a table at the restaurant or bar. It was pretty empty- but in a good way. Very relaxing. It was so nice to walk outside every day and have the beach right there. (Why pay tons more to stay at a fancy hotel and take a taxi every time you want to go to the beach???)
In the hotel lobby there are flyers on all the different activities in the area- day trips to the bahamas, flea markets, dinner cruises, nice restaurants, ect. There are also coupon books with great deals on all of these activities.
There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel, and it will take you right into down town Ft. Lauderdale. There is so much to do there. Shopping, bars, ect. I would definitely recommend River Front. It is an entire street of bars. You can walk from bar to bar all night and bring your drink with you from place to place. There's something for everyone there- no matter what kind of atmosphere/music you prefer. We went to a few different bars there and had a blast!!!
The hotel is also a short ride away from the Hard Rock Casino. We went there for one day to gamble and go to the clubs. (definitely worth the trip!!!)
The food at Milo's (the greek restaurant at the hotel) was delicious. Prices weren't too bad either. They also do room service.
One complaint that I did have was the fact that the front desk staff was unbelievably RUDE. I went up to the desk once a day to get fresh beach towels and every time the front desk girl would be sitting in the back with the TV blasting and when she would see me waiting she would sigh the loudest sigh and come up front with the most annoyed look and her face and just say "What do you want?" We ignored their rudeness the entire trip, as we were enjoying our vacation. It wasn't until check out that we kind of got annoyed with the attitude. As we were checking out, we saw a sign that said that shuttles were available to the airport. My boyfriend asked the front desk staff member for details on that. She stared at us and then started laughing. "If you wanted the shuttle you should have asked me about that before." We asked her if it was too late and if so we would just call a cab. She started sighing and was like "I'll call over to the driver and ask , but..... I really don't know." The shuttle was there in less than 15 minutes. (In other words, it WASN'T a big deal that we didn't ask for it until check out.) As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I found her attitude unexceptable during the entire trip. You always want your guests to leave on a positive note so that they will come back.
All in all, we had an amazing trip. Lots to do at night, lots of beach time during the day, great pool and hot tub, good food at the hotel, and GREAT bartender. If you can ignore the weathered 1970's decor and unhappy front desk staff, you will have an amazing vacation like we did.
P.S. I wouldn't recommend going in the ice machine/vending room on the 3rd floor... it's just plain creepy up there......

The front desk people acted like i was putting them out at check in and out.

The so called greek reastraunt staff were rude and i paid 5$ for a can of beer.

If you want a good dining experience wander out a little their are some good reasraunts nearby.

The hotel was rundown but you get what you pay for.Pool was nice.

And also it is beyond me why you have to rent beach chairs it should be for the hotel guest to use for free,I have never had to pay for such things.

I must admit the reviews I read before booking were true, but...we did have a wonderful time. After all, you make your own fun, and all we intended to do was hit the beach and the pool all day. As far as those two requirements, the pool and beach are perfect. Yes, we also had a difficult time getting towels and thankfully someone posted it's a good idea to bring your own beach towels. They have several maids and obviously they have different duties. All maids do not have all needed supplies. The one maid did clean our room very well each day. (sweeping up all of the sand was very appreciated)

We are smokers (I know, I know, no lectures please) but we did book a smoking room and waited 1 1/2 days to get an ashtray from the staff. We tried to fish our own ashtray out of the ocean, but alas, they don't have huge clam shells there like they do here in NJ!

Anyway, after enjoying the pool and the beach, we spent the rest of our time sightseeing and found this location to be perfect. To the left of the hotel is Ft Lauderdale and only took us about 15 scenic minutes to get there. To the right of the hotel is Deerfield Beach, which took about the same amount of time and is a cute little beach town along the water.

There is only ONE ice machine (on the 3rd floor) in the whole resort (?) God forbid it ever goes on the fritz. We were next to the "game/vending" room, but there is not one single game. Naturally the vending machines are pricey and at least one had a sign "out of order" the entire time. If you are traveling with kids and it happens to rain, better have brought your own games!

I was unable to get a hot full stream shower the whole time I was there, but I survived. The beds are uncomfortable and our backs were a little sore in the morning. We never tried out the restaurant because there was too many other places that were more appealing in the area.

My husband and I joked about everything the whole time because none of it really mattered, we were away and enjoying ourselves.

I do not believe this place will be around much longer because there are condos everywhere and a sign in the front even states that the hotel is under consideration.....

Oh, one more thing, there is NO computer for use in their lobby, so we had to go to another hotel to check in on our airlines before we left.
