Most of the "issues" we experienced with the Royal Vista were actually caused by me not thoroughly reading my confirmation. However, the staff did not do anything to help either..We arrived at the resort at 1:30pm..flight from NY at 8:00am was hoping to be on the beach by 1..but unfortunately check in wasn't until 4 ??? !!! That seems late...the desk did "try" to be "helpful" they said they would "try" to get us in earlier...well earlier was an hour and a 1/2 later...only after me constantly asking them at the desk and finally just standing there did they allow us to check in at 3:15...not that accomodating...we stayed in unit 7710...which was nice, except I thought I had an ocean view, not ocean front, but ocean view..this was not the case we had a lovely view of the street. Room was ok, furnishing just ok, but the master bath was actually disgusting with mold on the shower base inside and out. Not very welcoming. The four days there other than that were uneventful..nice Tiki Bar on the beach, they didn't carry my drink...but ok....pools were clean...elevators SLOW !! It's a huge building and only two elevators just didn't cut it. The major problem we had was check out. As I said previously, I should have READ ALL PRINT...because check out is 10 am !! Ridiculous !! Check in isn't until four...but check out is at 10 ??? I mean really...well, we had what I thought was a 5pm flight..the day before our departure I asked the front desk if I could have late check out..they advised that there would be a fee..I asked how much, they asked what time would I be checking out, I said "2"..she advised she would have to check with their accountant (makes NO SENSE) and get back to me, that I should stop back at the desk before 5:30.. I did and was advised it would cost $135 to stay until 2pm ...quite steep....but I agreed...the following morning...I received a call from this same woman at the desk (Sasha ?? not quite sure of her name) who confirmed we would be checking out at 2pm...I said, actually, I just checked my flight and it's not until 6pm, so maybe we'll be leaving closer to 3pm..she said there would be an additional charge..I said o.k...thinking...how much could another hour possibly cost...well I'm relaxing on the beach when I received an alert on my phone that my amex was charged $285 !!!!! I waited a bit and went up to the desk to speak to the women who arranged this..she "claimed" she never told me $135 ??? and that the fee for late check out is $35 then $100 for each additional hour..which also does not add up to $285..but I expressed my disagreement and was told I should just check out then..I said no I'm leaving at three and that I would posting a negative review on Tripadvisor and left the front desk....1/2 hour later, one of my guests went up to the room to begin getting ready for our departure but was unable to get into the room...because this "lovely" women at the front desk deactivated our room key cards !! I was extremely dissatisfied with the service at this Wyndham and will probably not return and suggest to you...BE VERY CAREFUL and read all fine print..their additional charges are astonomical !!
Request ocean view/front...do NOT stay past check out time...do NOT get there before there very late...
