Lovely time share units that can be rented, as well. The property is beautifully manicured. The unit that we rented had a beautiful view of the ocean. It came with a full kitchen and all the necessities for cooking. It is located on A1A. However, it is necessary to drive -- it is not in walking distance of any stores, restaurants, etc.

This place was a wonderful week vacation for us. We stayed Feb. 2-9th 2013 in a 2 bedroom 2 bath that slept 8. Master Bedroom was huge with king bed and private bath. check in was good it was a sat. so very busy. All clean areas, kitchen with full appliances and all items to cook. We asked for extra dishwasher soap for no charge, reused pool towels and ordered extra sheets for 1 bed after a guest left and another came. No charge for anything extra except one of us girls broke a plate and went to the front desk and paid $8 for a new plate. Totally our fault, not a big deal. We had a toilet issue with the flusher being broke and they came right up to fix it. We would love to stay again next year and every yr. after. No sales pitch due to us all being married ladies without our husbands. Just an fyi...when they found this out they never bothered us ONCE for any sales!!!

Room Tip: car to travel to eating is best option...no rest. on site.

Stayed for one week at Wyndham Sea Gardens Pompano beach with the family in late Feb 2013. We were assigned a two-bedroom suite #359 in the Key West building. Travelled with two kids 9 & 13 years old.

The good:
- Our suite was very spacious, had master bedroom with a king bed (very comfy) hot tub in the master br (never used it). Full bath. HD TV. Full kitchen with all utensils and ware.
- The resort staff were very nice and accommodating. Concierge had very good suggestions for dinner restaurants. Gave us discount coupons.
- Washer and dryer in suite
- There was a lot of restaurants and shops within 10 min drive of the resort.
- Parking was plentiful.
- The grounds are beautifully maintained.
- There was a small pool right outside our suite.

The not so good:
- No maid service
- Moldy bathroom in master suite
- 3 showers and you were out of hot water
- Wireless internet in our room was very slow and hard to connect to. I had to call tech support twice to get it up and running.
- The pools at this resort are puny and there are not enough chairs for the patrons on sunny and hot days.
- Some jerk owned a loud Harley across the street and felt the need to ride it full throttle a few times a day on our street at all hours and rattle the windows, wake up everyone, & loosen up our dental work...
- The pool by the ocean is not heated and if you are here in February, it may get too cold to swim in.
- The resort is very old and is being slowly updated. The parts that are not updated are sometimes really ugly (ex: men's room in the main lobby)

Also, they told us there would be a free breakfast or lunch at another Wyndham resort a couple of miles away, which turned out to be a high-pressure sales pitch for buying time-share vacation privileges from Wyndham resorts in exchange for a dinner cruise for two or a $75 pre-paid credit card. I wish we had not done that. The breakfast was lousy and it was a total waste of two hours of our time. Highly recommend that you skip this unless you have a lot of spare time on your hands.

Also, they give you two packages of dishwasher liquid and two packages of laundry detergent. If you need to use more, they charge you a buck or two for each.

You have to call front desk to have pool towels delivered to your room. You can't pick them up by the pool yourself.

All in all, we would probably choose another resort if we came back to Pampano beach area.

This was our second time at this Wyndham timeshare property. The check-in was better, quicker & more personable this time than last year. It is an older property, but that being said, it is maintained well. Pools, landscape, public areas, & our rooms were all as clean as possible. New carpeting would be nice, but it's not in bad condition. We were in Ocean Palms bldg. & it has inside, multi-level, parking, which I like. 4 pools, so you're bound to find one to suit your taste. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath, suite is large & has a good kitchen, with all expected amenities. All staff we dealt with were friendly, knowledgable, & courteous. We didn't hear other guests, so I presume it is well built.
There are better, newer properties around, but Wyndham Sea Gardens is a very nice resort to spend a week in the sun.

Room Tip: There are 4 different accommodations at this resort. Studio's are on the beach, 2 buildings &am...

My wife and I stayed here in January 2013 in a room 219 studio "B". We were told at the time of booking that this was heir smallest room and it was. When speaking to other guests the other rooms were larger.

That being said the room was nice. Very comfortable beds, the best we ever had a timeshare.
The kitchen had the basics, two burner stove, small refrigerator, fully stocked for 4 spoons, dishes, pans. It was just fine for breakfast and lunch... making a dinner in a "B" studio would be recommended. The bathroom was large and had a walk in shower.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They try to get you to a free breakfast or lunch for the Timeshare Sales meeting.... we opted not to go and they did not pressure us too much.

The property was nice and clean. They had several heated pools, gardens, and water fall /pond that were well kept. Plenty of chairs, tables and lounge chairs by the pools.

The property is sold as on the beach... but that is only the two buildings on the beach. The rest of the property is across the street A1A. But is was no more that a 3-5 minute walk to get onto the beach, It was nice to spend half the day at the beach and half at the pool.

If you go to the beach there is a rental charge for chairs $5 and they jet skis, kayaks. The beach is beautiful and was not very crowded. They have a unheated pool by the beach and a plenty of chairs by the pool.

There was no maid service but a quick call to house keeping and we got all the room towels and beach towels we needed. .

You will need a car if you stay here. There are no restaurants within walking distance.. but 10 minutes in either direction by car puts you at some nice restaurants.

Room Tip: Stay away from the Studio "B" as they are very small

Most of the resort is older, but fixed up. Nothing too exciting, several pools and hotubs. The central garden is very tropical, something very different from most resorts. The water fountains could use a little TLC, but very relaxing atmosphere with the tiki bar. They spent a lot of money to fix the place up recently- new patio block and paint, etc. , but the largest building needs touch up paint and the carpet was frayed in the unit that we were in. Most of the beach resorts could use a little more time cleaning the floors due to the sand.I don't understand why the maint. people couldn't take a little time to touch up the scratches - it would make a huge difference.
The beach was a mess due to hurricane sandy cruising past stirring up the surf and Pompano Beach nor Wyndham spent much effort to clean anything up. Huge difference between this resort and the resorts up in Panama City/Destin areas that groom the white sand beaches a couple times a week. We drove to Haulover Beach towards Miami for the best beaches.
I'm sure that any other time the beach couldn't be that bad. I really was spoiled in the panhandle.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Ocean palms and had a very nice view of the surrounding are due to the height of th...

We were there in December 2012 - January 2013.

This is the best place to go with a family and we enjoy it so much that we go back every year.

The units are very clean and so is all the property. There are three heated pools and one that is not (the one closest to the beach). There are a lot of different types of unit and they all have access to a free Wi-Fi. Some units have a washer and dryer and some do not, but there are three washer/dryer available in the north cabana building and you can use those for free. There is also two Jacuzzi on the property and three tennis court are available free of charge. There is also a fitness center on the site, but it should be upgraded a little.

By the way, the Cabana pool is the less windy place so it is a good choice when the weather is colder.

There are a few differences from last year. The lobby is still located in the north building but now the "game room" is also in this building. The south office building was closed and it was mentioned that it would be a new "SPA" in a near future. The game room is a little less inviting but they still have a Wii with a lot of games and they also have a good selection of board games, but that's about it. They still rent old DVD movies (2$). There is also a new "Publix" grocery store that is now open on Atlantic Blvd just over the draw bridge. You still need a car to get there but it is nice to have a good grocery store nearby.

One of the best things about this place is the staff. They really do their best to make your vacation a great one. At the front desk you are always greeted with a smile (Vinette, Zechia, Joe, Pauline, etc). The activity staff (Eddy, Kenny, Omare) is great. They really make you feel at home.

There are all so nice and so helpful. I must say that everyone working there really knows what customer service mean. They go out of their way to satisfy everybody and they are all great at their job.

The resort provides beach towels, but you might have a little trouble if you want to exchange those everyday since they don't always have some. But since you have access to a washer/dryer it might be a better idea to clean them yourself. Be advice that they now charge for things like laundry detergent, dishwasher, toilet paper if you need more that the quantity that was provided in the unit when you checked-in.

You can rent a chair and an umbrella at the beach but the beach is so great you really don’t need too. Most of the people we saw just used their towel directly on the sand like we did. The ocean is great too. There is a medium drop when you enter the water (about 2 feet) but when you pass that you only have water to your knees and after that if is very shallow for a while. So the kids can go very far without you worrying about them. On the windy days the waves were really cool but did not seems too dangerous so this is a wonderful place to play with kids.

By the way, you can borrow a lot of things from the game room (Surfboard, sand toys, beach chairs (NEW!), football, etc...). You just have to sign in the register and bring back everything as soon as you are done with it. You won't be charge a dime, but please do not bring this stuff to your room, bring it back to the game room so other people could use it.

Finally, they also organize a lot of activities (Bingo, Karaoke, etc...) and this is fun for all the family. So get in the mood and you will have a great time at Sea Gardens.

I must say that I noticed a couple of minor negative points this year and I reported them to Wyndham so I hope they will address them. Here they are:

1) This year we noticed that a lot of chairs around the pools were reserved early by guests that put their towels on it and leave, even if it is not allowed. Often those chairs stay empty for hours and other guests that are around the pool have no chair to seat.

2) You can exchange your beach towel but they often run out of them because people do not return the used ones and leave them in their unit even if they don't need them anymore.

My suggestion to fix the "towel shortage" situation would be to implement a system that seems very efficient at other Wyndham resort. The beach towels should be supplied on a rack near the pools and there should be a bin there also where you could put your used towel when you leave the pool. This way, nobody brings towels to their room and the staff could easily collect dirty towel to clean them and bring them back near the pool as they are available.

And to fix the "chair reservation" situation, the staff should frequently check and remove the towels from empty chairs and throw them in the dirty bin and collect the miscellaneous item that reserved the chairs in a "lot/found" box near the pool!

There is also a lack of control in the game room where you check-out the beach chairs, beach toys, umbrella, etc... So there was one week where some guests took the beach chairs one morning and did not bring them back at the end of the day. In fact they kept the beach chair all week but the staff could not retrace them since they never signed the check-out book. There should be more control, maybe not to the extent of controlling every little thing that is borrowed, but at least to know which guest did borrow the more in-demand items (beach chairs and umbrellas).

All in all, I will definitely go back to the Sea Garden and I really recommend it to everyone. This is one of my favourite places to spend time with my family.

Note: See my previous review of this place for pictures.
