“Wonderful New Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

My husband and I just spent 5 nights at this wonderful new hotel. First of all, I have to say that this hotel has the friendliest, most helpful, caring staff that I have ever seen. From the valet guys to the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone we encountered really went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We stayed in an oceanfront executive suite on the 6th floor and it was spectacular. We are Platinum members and we have stayed at a lot of hotels and this room was just perfect. The large wrap around lanai with a chaise lounge and table and chairs really made for a relaxing stay. The views were great and we didn't want to leave the lanai. The hotel has two mid size pools and is right on the ocean. We had the breakfast buffet every day and it was fresh and hot with a decent choice of items. The wait staff and the restaurant manager went above and beyond to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. The spa does not open until November so we had to use the spa at the Residence Inn. People gripe all the time about paying for parking but this seems to be the norm with this part of Florida. We knew this ahead of time so we were not surprised about the $25/day parking charge. They only do valet but if it is raining, this is a plus. Other people also gripe about paying for beach chairs. Again, every time we have come to Florida, this is also the norm. It's a public beach and the chairs are always handled by private vendors. I definitely recommend this hotel and we can't wait to stay there again.

Room Tip: Oceanfront rooms are great since they have bigger lanais but even the rooms on the side look like th...

We stayed at this hotel the first weekend it was opened. It was remodeled and looked great. The staff was very nice and tried to be helpful when they could but the sometimes I wasn't sure they knew where to get the help. Our room was very clean and modern. The elevators did take forever, however. We were there for a wedding and the venue was great. My big complaint was the breakfast buffet. The food was good but there just wasn't enough space to commodate the amounts of people that could possibly stay at the hotel. When we stayed only one tower was open and just to get seated took forever. We ended up seating ourselves and they seemed to have forgotten about people waiting. The food was not out fast enough and left many waiting with empty plates. They did apologize, like I said they were just opening up and I think once they work out the kinks it will be fine. I will go back and give it another try. The location was nice and the beach was quiet, private and close to food and groceries.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. OK, valet parking ($25) is more or less required, but this brand-new hotel is perfect in all other respects. Just sorry we could only stay one night. We were delighted when they offered us complimentary breakfast and they seemingly couldn't do enough else for us during our stay. Three hour delayed checkout so we could enjoy the beach and not have to be inconvenienced before our flight, even key lime pie on the house at the poolside bar. The facilities are great, the beach is gorgeous, rooms large and well-appointed with private balconies and ocean views. Keep up the great work...we'll be back!!

This new resort has it all - great location on the beach - the friendliest staff -very comfortable rooms. We are thrilled to have found this great spot. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. The pools are ideal and the outside area has many umbrellas and tables. I agree with the other reviews - Pompano is quieter but has it all - nice restaurants, shopping, etc.

I just want to take a moment to thank the excellent customer service we experienced at this
new resort. I would like to begin with the Restaurant team: Sherril Williams, Skeeter Grant,
Eve Waters, and of course the lovely Angelica. It was so great to be greeted every morning with such warm conversations and friendly smiles. They went out of their way to offer excellent service at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was abundant with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, oatmeal ! Please do not skip the "BEST FRENCH TOAST" prepared lovingly by the great chef!

Another wonderful face at the front desk to greet you and offer great activities for families, Tara Anadd. She is very helpful to offer excursion tips

The outside attendants became our personal friends - the attention they paid to us and our needs were exceptional - Janae Weldon had choc. strawberries ordered to our room for our
girls' 12th B-day- for a special surprise. Jessica Hogge made a great impression on the girls with her great upbeat personality. Wayne from Jamaica had a great attitude and entertained us a
w/ his stories about his homeland and advise about the ocean.
Chris Snow was also terrific - outside service - and made the girls kiwi strawberry water !
They will make the greatest Kid Club staff ever - voted by my girls ! I hope they are offered more challenging positions as this hotel grows, they are great empoyees.

The rooms were so comfy - the fact that they are brand new is a bonus. I loved the pools
One in the shade - one in the sun. The beach was clean and quiet - Pompano Beach is so much calmer than the Ft. Lauderdale hussle, but yet so close to visit.

I leave with great wishes for all this wonderful staff and hope them the best for their futures! They all have so much to offer to this great hotel! Thank-you! Fondly, Irene and Family

Room Tip: If you want to be closer to beach view, older tower !

We stayed for three nights. The hotel had just opened and really wasn't running full tilt. The room was nice and a decent size. Typical of a Marriott. Thought the bed was better than normal. We found the staff to be great. The real complaint I would have is the valet parking. You have to pay $25 per day when there is a big lot and you can literally see your car. More than once, we just said "we'll get it' because it was right in front of us. So it seemed you were paying for something totally unnecessary plus felt obligated to tip. We were in and out frequently which made this especially annoying.

Traveled 8/14-8/19/13 and stayed on the 5th floor of the new South Tower.
Top notch employees with valet and front desk. The pool was nice and the gym had a little of the basics. Things that didn't work so well: did not received house keeping on 2 of the days which I had to call down to front desk, paid for the room 100% online and still was charged for 2 nights at checkout but was reversed, 25.00 per day for valet is beyond me, and the biggest question I have...paying to use lounge/beach chairs by the beach (12.00 - 100.00)?? Felt like you got nickeled and dimed to death on amenaties.
