This hotel was worst than terrible. I had booked this hotel previous to getting there. Since i was only staying overnight, I figured how bad could a Super 8 be. Not lovely, but clean.
The big mistake was not clearing this hotel through Trip Advisor in the first place.
Because of the bad weather in NYC, I decided to stay in Florida for a couple of more days. So I called this hotel, and they told me they would charge me the same price as Expedia. I would book this hotel when I arrived.
It looked bad from the outside, but I kept saying how bad could a Super 8 be. When I went into the ugly reception area, I spoke to the clerk. He billed me $75 plus tax for 3 days. I told him I paid for one day through Expedia and had the receipt showing this.
The "manager"then came out. He told me I only had one day paid. We agreed. Then he billed me for 2 days $279. I explained to him that I had called 2 times previous and was told the price would be the same as Expedia - $99. He expressly told me I did not call. I said, "you are calling me a liar." And he said, "yes."
I refused the 2 days, and he gave me a key to a room on the first floor. As I was walking there, he said I had 10 minutes to cancel the room. Don't know why because I had previously paid for the room. Walking into the room, I knew that I was not in a safe place for a woman alone. With that, I told him I cancelled. He then did something, and I asked for a receipt of some kind, and he said "no -- get out of my hotel and don't come back." And trust me, I got out of that hotel.
I guess the point I am making is aside from being an ugly hotel, it is not a safe hotel especially for a woman alone. Do not ever think about going to this place. Strange people moved around the place while I was there. Please, please, please - stay away from this "joint."
