“Little Gem!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2010

My husband and I just returned from the Fort Lauderdale area and I am compelled
to write a glowing report of this small timeshare/rental resort on the beach. Wow, it has
been a long time since we have raved so much about a Florida resort. We stayed a
week at this little gem on the beach, it is a very very clean and well run property with
extremely friendly staff that go out of their way to recommend restaurants etc in the
area as well as directions! Everyday you see the maint, staff cleaning the grounds,
even the bbq grills for quests get cleaned every morning. It is an older four story
building hidden amongst very large residental condo's in a safe quiet neighbourhood.
The units are 1 and 2 bedrooms completely well furnished condo's that sleep from 4 to 8 people.
There is a plaza approx 1/2 mile walking and a free bus along Ocean Blvd if you
don't want a rental car. Great family type resort and as seniors we just can't wait to
go back next year. It is not for singles or people looking for nightlife etc.

Just finishing up a week at this most comfortable, well-located resort. Our unit is well laid out, comfortable, and we lack for nothing. One cannot say enough about the entire staff. They literally "make" this a 5-star experience! If there is ANYTHING one needs, or if ANYTHING is "out-of-order"... the staff IMMEDIATELY attends to one's needs!

Lots of activities ON-SITE: lending library, board games, practice tennis court, swings/jungle gym/etc, putt-putt, shuffle board, heated pool, AND the ATLANTIC!!

Adequate TV stations, WI-FI, fully equipped kitchens (need a utensil or supplies? It's here or they get it!). Beach towels, beach chairs, EVERYTHING provided.

Hate to be leaving!

My wife and I and our three young kids (8, 5 & 2) have now stayed at the Native Sun for two years, and have had a great experience both times. The rooms and decor are a little tired-looking, but the suites are clean and comfortable with all of the features needed for a family beach vacation. The staff are also friendly and accommodating.

The building layout is great, with all of the rooms overlooking a quiet, well-landscaped courtyard with a heated pool, hottub, shuffle board, miniput and gardens where you can relax off the beach. There are also a couple of BBQs, so that you can have a picnic lunch or dinner.

The beach itself is clean and relatively quiet. The resort provides beachchairs free of charge that you can pull down as close to the water as you wish. You can also walk down the beach (15-20 minutes) to the pier to get ice cream, a meal or a drink.

While the selection of restaurants within walking distance is limited, there are a number of places a short drive or cab-ride away.

All-in-all, the Native Sun is a great destination for a young family!

I could not wait to get back there this year. Resort is wonderful the people that run it bend over backwards trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Everything you could want is within walking distance, food, restaurants (Try the Seawatch it's incredible). Drug store, bars. If you want a very nice place without breaking the bank this is the best I've stayed in. I've stayed in more expensive places and cheaper places this to me is 5 star at a 3.5 star price. VERY CLEAN !!!!

This timeshare resort is an older facility in a quiet residential area right on the beach. Our room had new carpeting and new kitchen. Kudos to Michael and Nancy at the front desk. They were helpful and friendly and a great representation of customer service. The grounds are well kept and safe for children to play. Sea Watch is a great place to eat about 5 minutes walk. A short drive to Lauderdale is fun..eat at Primanti's and have a Pittsburger, Las Olas Boulevard is beautiful and has great cafe's and boutiques. I would stay here again!

We transferred to the Native Sun after spending a horrendous night in the Ramada Hollywood Hotel.RCI should not have put us in the Tower of Terror in the first place but they got us out of that hellhole and into the Native Sun.
The apartment was excellent and had a fantastic location right on the beach at Fort Lauderdale by the Sea/Pompano Beach.
Don't think you will get better Gold Crown accommodation on the beach than this little gem.The staff were also extremely helpful and friendly.
Booked to stay again in September 2010.
