“Ok overnight stay but not for long term”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

We stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. We had a 2 bedroom we shared with another couple (friends of ours). We found the master bed/bath to be nice, the other was more of a standard hotel style room with bathroom fixtures that were worn and dated. The kitchen was very nice and stocked with any utensils/pans you'd need along with a washer/dryer that would be nice for long term. The pools were nice and warm. The staff seemed friendly for the most part. The mini golf course was fun and kept maintained. Cons: Location! This hotel is situated in a more residential area than anything. There is a grocery store and a Ruby Tuesdays (way over priced) across the street and a Wal-Mart across the other way both within walking distance but otherwise nothing else around. The hotel itself has a cafe but has short and odd hours (done by 6 pm for dinner??) but is also priced a bit high but considering no other competition- no surprise. They really need more hot tubs- the one near the main pool had people nearly sitting on top of each other. The planned activities including a beer tasting we had wanted to try were all canceled due to inclement weather- rain--however the 2 activities we wanted to do were inside...????? We did not get approached for time share sales pitches as we arrived in the middle of the night and the other couple was already there to let us in so we avoided the front desk the entire time we were there- however the couple we were with did get confronted for it twice and were also called twice.
Overall a nice stay but since it wasn't for a week or longer a standard hotel at a cheaper price with better location (closer to shops, restaurants, cruise port, ect) would have been best. If it's for a long term stay you would need a car to retrieve supplies, and get to places as taxi/shuttle rates are very high (we paid $60 to get from airport to the hotel and another $55 to get from hotel to cruise port)

We have stayed at this resort multiple times now and always love it. It has wonderful pools and amenities. The grounds are beautiful. There are activities daily for adults and children. It is not on the beach but has a sister resort right on the beach you can use. It is located for easy day trips to other cities and we have even taken a day trip to Key West from here. (It was a full day). The water taxi is awesome and the trip on the boat to see the homes of "the rich and famous" is wonderful! We will stay here as often as possible.

The well-maintained resort is comprised of several multi-story buildings with ample on-site amenities. With the exception of the grumpy karaoke guy (Is there a book for song selections? “Just tell me a song and I’ll see if I have it”), all employees encountered were very friendly and helpful. During check-in, I was asked about doing a resort update. I declined and then declined a little more firmly. No other mention of the timeshare pitch.

With its inviting 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit with neutral décor, the Wyndham Palm-Aire did not disappoint. The master bedroom bath was very large and bright. If you don’t like arising with the sun, you might want to bring a sleep mask. There is a large, frosted window in the master bathroom without a curtain, blinds or any means for blocking out the light. Chef-in-the-making kitchen with granite counter tops and ample cabinets. Second bedroom and bathroom are spacious.

The resort has an active schedule with family-friendly activities throughout the week. Mini golf was fun, even under the moonlight. Pools were never crowded and the kiddie pool combined with the main pool is a nice touch. Ample gas grills throughout the resort invited strangers to mingle for a while.

The only entrance to the resort was through the 24-hour security gate. We felt quite secure. Exits were activated when the vehicles approached the gates.

Although the area offers nearby beaches, nice shopping and entertainment, the Wyndham Palm-Aire is an easy drive to Miami for the day.

Overall, a nice stay and looking forward to a return trip. High five to Wyndham Palm-Aire!

Room Tip: Request an upper floor in the main building.

The resort is absolutely wonderful. The complex is quiet, peaceful, and very well maintained. We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe and could not have been happier with the room accommodations. It is nice that the resort is kind only a short drive to the beach, yet close to local shopping and the Everglades. The only downside I experienced was the area surrounding the resort (to the north and west, is a little scary.) I am not saying not to go out after dark but you should be very careful. The crime rate must be pretty high because the convenience stores lock their doors and conduct all operations through a small window after about 10:00 PM. Also, if you want to attend their informational meeting, they make it worth your while but I was not able to attend because no one informed me my wife had to attend and she is not going to get up at 7:00 AM to go to a meeting.

Room Tip: We were in the sabel building and it was very nice

We stayed here NOT as a time share owner but rather through a Skyauction package. Check in: two people at main desk, six families in line to check in!. While effecient still a more than reasonable wait time to check in. Once info is taken you are sent to a "CONCIEGE" area where the sales pitch begins. After stating FOUR times we were NOT interested in a free informational breakfast, the person continued to insist that we attend a "free" breakfast. Almost lost it at this point and FIRMLY stated NNNOOO!. At which point we were given back out registration(actually shoved across the counter to us) and told to go back to the check in. Person there then gave us a room assignment. At this point things got better. Room, grounds, pool all at least a 4 star rating. Little things : paper left on hallway display for four days, rug in hallway not cleaned of white "powder" for two days, nice water fountain on third level never ran, nice plants in lobby dying for lack of watering, towel replacement service after four days never took place(wife washed/dried towels in free laundry area). According to a sign in the room the pool towels(plural) where to taken to the pool for our use. There was only one (not a plural) number I called housekeeping and explained I would like to pick the other one up at the main desk on our way to the adjacent pool. Some fifteen minutes later, still no towel at the main desk. I struck up a comversation with a staff person from the Domincan Rep who finally took a phone, spoke to someone in Spanish and within 5 minutes towel person arrived. Each room was to have 4 towels and any less upon leaving there would be a charge of $75/towel!!!! Needed to use compuer in business center. Of the two one was not working.I went to the business office desk where two ladies were looking at their commputers. After some five minutes I asked if someone could help me! They were looking right at me!!!! General staff okay, people in "power" positions, rude, discourteous and poor reps for Wyndham! Overall and fine place to stay once you get by SOME staff.

Room Tip: Rooms (having bene there twice) are basically the same. Lower floors would mean not having to deal...

the hotel was very clean and well kept, the room had everything you could ask for kicthen with dishes and silverware,refegarator,dihwasher,stove,microwave,etc......large livingroom area.the bedrooms were clean and nice with large showers and plenty of hot water(some hotels have water problems when a lot of people are showering at the same time).the only thing that was a minor inconvence was the beach was a 15 or 20 minute shuttle ride away, but the hotel had one large pool and two smaller pools so that was not bad.lots to do in the area casino, horse track, many good places to eat, plenty of shopping, and many extra things to do....

First let me tell you that the resort itself is very nice. Our 2 bedroom suite was great, clean and had lots of room. If it hadn't been for the noisy deliveries every morning it would have been a very nice resort to stay at.

Every morning at 6am we experienced backup beepers, people yelling, and otherwise noisy deliveries right outside our window.

If you are going to stay here make sure you aren't put in the Royal Palm building.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the Royal Palm building.
