We are staying with family this week in their time share here. We have a large 2 bedroom with spacious living room, kitchenette and dining area. One bedroom with hot tub. There are 2 pools. One with wading area, water slide and separate kiddie pool. On other side is a lovely quiet pool. We played miniature golf, billiards and many games in activity center to take on loan to room. Specials each day for lunch, ice cream etc. Schedules daily for different entertainment, some at nominal cost. Staff is friendly and attentive. Members of time share can invite others, as we are the guests.
Although not near beach, we are able to go to sister property, Royal Palm the crown jewel of Wyndham in Pompano. Another property here is Santa Barbara. We are enjoying our vacation with my sister and brother in law.

This property is a good place to stay with your family. Nice spacious rooms. Pool area is good for kids and family, definitely not Miami Beach or Vegas style pool activities.

Need a car to get anywhere, plenty of restaurants nearby but you need to drive to them.

As of October 2012 they are expanding the golf course associated with the property, so for a while you will see construction and large pile of sand and dirt from the pool area located behind the recption building

We checked in 9-29-12, 7 of us with my 88 year old great grandma, the room looked nice but smelled strong of chemicals,we left and went out to dinner, came back went to bed and i woke to itching and sand fleas jumping on me.I tried to go to the balcony for relief it was infested with red ants as was the kitchen. I went to the office who sent an engineer?? Who said i was allergic to the cleaning solution they use, meanwhile others had bites. They moved us to a new room same building as the maid told us are room had a service dog the week before and they were having a bad sand flea problem. We left again for the day, came back, same thing, this time i woke with swollen eyes and hands, with bites and hives, i couldnt breathe, my family called an ambulance, and we left as soon as our company could move us, with no help from this resort

Just got back last night from a week at the Wyndam Palm Aire in Pompano Beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Lisa at the bar. Many of them seemed to be new so don't know if they have had a large turnover in staff or not. We thought it was a very nice property, with multiple pools and hot tubs, multiple buildings, lovely vegetation, a small lake, and a fair number of birds.
One of the pools had a water slide and a kids area, while the other main pool somewhat removed thereby making it a quieter area. The third pool was hidden off behind the main building and much smaller, and so didn't seem to be used much.
Have read on here somewhere that the pools were unheated, but the one I was in on Thursday definitely had some heated water being pumped in. This property is five miles from the beach, but they supply a daily shuttle leaving at 9:30, returning at 2:30. We had a rental car so had no need of the shuttle. With our Wyndam parking pass, we had free use of the Wyndam hotels on or near the beach, which was really convenient. I preferred to pay a little for parking over at the fishing pier as I liked that part of the beach, just because of the pier.
Yes, there was pressure to attend a sales pitch but it appeared to be pretty easy to say no.
The unit we had was huge, large living room, massive bedroom with a large jacuzzi tub, two bathrooms - one with a very large, glass-enclosed shower - and an efficiently-sized kitchen, complete with all the appliances and utensils you could need. The property is somewhat older which shows up in some interesting ways. For example, the bathroom fans are incredibly noisy. Obviously Wyndam is trying to save some expenses on energy as low-energy use light bulbs are everywhere. Some of which took an incredibly long time to light up. We found the property well maintained and very clean. A lot of the clientele were either young families with children or retired couples. Not really a party place.
We did a lot of traveling around the area, and the Palm Aire is well situated, close to the highways making it easy to get off in any direction.
There seemed to be lots of activity every day with crafts, fitness classes and the occasional ice cream sundae bar.
While in Pompano Beach we took a couple tours, one being the Jungle Queen dinner cruise up the New River. Beautiful trip up the river, with commentary about who owns some of the huge mansions along the river. The meal was excellent. We could have done without the cheesy variety show, but even it provided some laughs. The other tour we took was an airboat ride in the Everglades from Everglades Holiday Park. Trey was a good guide and it was a decent trip. Probably get to go further into the Everglades if you travel further from Fort Lauderdale, but it was well worth the price of admission.
All in all a great week, and we would consider staying at the Palm Aire again.
