“Overall great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

I was in town for a conference, the hotel has a restaurant onsite called cilantros and a Walgreen within walking distance. It's a quick car ride away from shops and other food venues. The rooms are spacious having a sitting area separate from beds and a small wet bar area containing the convenience of a microwave. Also providing free Starbucks individual packets for you to make your own coffee in a.m. the walls appear thin as many times you could hear muffled voices from other rooms. Very courteous staff. Hotel Overall nice stay for non recreational use.

The staff of a hotel can make or break a stay, on this occasion I received such faultless service from all staff I encountered. Rare to find such a consistently friendly and efficient team...! A warm welcome is an understatement.

They could not have been more helpful with written directions to places nearby, mall, various stores, etc. Even the concierge was brilliant offering us umbrellas as we left the building in stormy weather. Wouldn't have been aware they were available otherwise! The services of the hotels own transport were offered to me several times each time I was leaving the building, which honestly wasn't needed but was appreciated in bad weather!

I was addressed by name on each occasion I spoke to staff on the front desk, and would like to mention in particular Julie, and Andrena, who despite being exceptionally busy, were both talkative and welcoming and this is always appreciated when I am away from home.

We arrived late, and as an alternative to going out in the bad weather, we elected to have a quick meal in the bar area. A comprehensive menu is available until very late which was appreciated - not just the usual limited selection of cold food items one is usually begrudgingly offered at such times.

The service was extremely quick and friendly, and food was outstanding - the key lime pie was to die for!

My suite was pristine, very well appointed and comfortable. Good to be able to close off the bedroom area with the sliding door. Microwave useful for preparing snacks, and supplies of coffee topped up on request.

Internet coverage seemed a bit slow, kept dropping out from time to time, but for me it was fine and I could achieve Skype calls home which was the main thing. Might be an issue if you need to use internet for work purposes, but it may well have been better in other parts of the building.

Walking through the corridors to my room, the carpets were quite dirty in need of cleaning, not a good impression as I was dreading getting to my room, but as previously mentioned, that was immaculate! I did see on other floors that fans were in use in places where seemingly the carpets had been cleaned, so this is all being addressed....

All in all, a perfect short stay and will look forward to returning...!

I hope that my comments about how superb the staff will be shared with the entire team. They all worked really hard looking after our group and we appreciated it.

Rude staff! I witnessed several guests berated by staff including myself at the slightest little problem. Sure, the rooms are OK but it sits next to a dilapidated mall and the photos here of the pool and exercise room are NOT what you see at present day. The hallways probably have not been shampooed in a decade..so gross. We were told we had a suite on the Club Floor. There is no such thing here and no free SPG breakfast. I overhead several people complaining about lack of amenities AND overcharges. The daily cleaning crew starts at 8:30am with squeaky carts. You better be awake or their banging down the hall will awaken you! The other reviews are from people who probably had no "issues" therefore did not have to interact with the staff. I'll NEVER stay here or tell my friends to stay here. TERRIBLE.

Room Tip: Don't stay here. When it says "suite" it really means a larger type room with a slidi...

Spent 3 nights there...spacious suites, comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids. Great happy hour, 1/2 price drinks and appetizers. Excellent pool and hot tub area. Fitness center had treadmills and free weights. Construction next to the building so view from room wasn't too pleasant. Overall good stay.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding party. The staff at the desk were welcoming and professional and courteous. Yashika and Julie were helpful,co-operative ,friendly and hospitable. They graciously lent us 3 sets of cutlery wrapped in snowy ,white napkins to use in our rooms, which we returned to them, in the same condition upon checking out. They shared info re shopping ,restaurants, nail places and deals on items we needed. Everyone at the hotel was super helpful'
Our room was cleaned every day for the 4 days --May 29 - June 2 inclusive. The bathrooms shone; and beds in their whiter than white sheets and duvets, were a pleasure to tumble into after a day of shopping at Sawgrass till 9.00 pm. We were in Room 722 and the view was fantastic with the sun rising over the Church at the front of the hotel each morning. We had lots of tea and coffee; and if we needed anything we just had to call the desk eg extra cups glasses etc. it was service with a smile. The flavoured water in the lobby was a welcome icy cold drink on the hot days ( lemon & orange ). The elevators were always on time, and we were near to the roof pool ,sauna and exercise room. We had a car so we ate delicious breakfasts at Dennys each day at an economical price --a real treat !!!! Its a few blocks down the street, so you can get a lift on the shuttle to Sawgrass Mall etc. The servers at Dennys were also hospitable and helpful. The food was fresh, tasty and hot with free refills of coffee.

The pool ,washrooms ,sauna and hot tub were kept very clean .There were white towels all stacked, for the use of guests and large urns conveniently placed to put the used ones . However, there were families with kids ,teenagers ,grand-- mothers who just threw them on the pool deck, or left them on the deck chairs ; leading to an untidy appearance of the area. There were other guests who brought bottles of 'booze ' to the roof and glasses (not plastic), which were left littered all over the deck ; while the smoking did foul the air for us who are allergic to cigarette smoke!!! This was not the fault of the hotel or their staff --eg kids were left unattended in the pool, hot tub and sauna for a long time.

The view ,the breeze and general ambiance of the roof pool were very relaxing and soothing at night with the city at your feet. The gentleman who worked at the hotel kept picking up towels etc to keep things neat.

The hallways are clean but the carpet is old so it does look a bit worn --a replacement will be great as this hotel is centrally located. The sofa in our room was very uncomfortable, as the cushions have lost their resilience, and is quite hard, and slopes to the left, so you are sliding away . It is impossible to sleep on as the springs are shot ????

Smaller size pieces of furniture will give the room a more spacious feel and allow a family more space to move around . The room was adequate for 3 adults; the mattresses were comfortable and pillows spotlessly clean with no discernible odor.

Maybe a free breakfast would be the appreciated, also add to the value of this property as a viable place to stay.

We would stay here again --location,cleanliness,price,great staff at the desk and the warm smiles of welcome by all staff.

Thanks to all for a great mini holiday

It was my first time staying at a Starwood property and definitely loved this property as a whole, front desk was attentive and professional, rooms were all suites with a sliding door that separated the living room area and the bedroom area, the bathroom had two sinks which I thought was a plus for any additional guest staying in room overall it was a pleasant stay!!!
