“Overall great water pressure”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

My wife and I stayed here recently for Valentine's day for one night. First off, the location is fantastic to get to downtown Pensacola and it's also conveniently close to the Emerald City bar in case you want to stagger in late at night. However the serious downfall to the hotel's location is that it is backed up to the railroad tracks. I didn't realize how many trains pass through the night so if you are looking for proper sleep quality, consumer beware because the train will pass by more than you would have thought during the night. Additionally the mattresses are firm and so this supplements the noisy environment surrounding you. So hopefully you either get white girl wasted to sleep peacefully through the night or you don't consider booking this hotel at all. Our Phillips brand television also had issues bringing up the picture. Considering the poor quality of Phillips' ear buds, I wasn't too surprised by this television set. The bathroom was tiny and surprisingly the lights in there didn't light up the shower stall so it felt like I was taking a shower in a mining tavern. I don't expect the lights of a thousand blazing suns to be installed in a hotel bathroom, but it would have been nice to be able to see where my razor was while shaving. Needless to say, as I checked out and took a walk outside I noticed some stray hairs on my way to IHOP because folks, there is NO complimentary breakfast available at this hotel. I do want to give props for your pipes though because the Crowne Plaza has some great water pressure--Robert and Ebert thumbs up for the climactic water pressure.

Room Tip: Go to Margaritaville in Pensacola instead.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. The train depot, which is on the National Historic Registry is attached to our hotel. It is a beautiful structure with an amazing amount of charm. We hope that you come back and visit. If you do, please ask for a high floor. This way should the train run that night it will cut down on the noise dramatically. Thank you again for staying with us.

We were visiting friends and stayed here for just one night. Crowne Plaza hotels have a reputation to uphold and this one does a good job is most areas. It is a bit old but they've done a pretty good job bringing it up to date expect they DO NOT have hi-definition television. Stayed in these places from coast to coast but this is the first time I've seen such a bad TV picture in the room. Too bad.

We had a corner room with large windows on both walls but the views on all sides were of the interstate.

Room Tip: Ordered from the breakfast menu and it was pretty good.

I stayed here while attending a conference. It was conveniently located next to the civic center, bay, and a cute little shopping-eating district. The interior and outside of this renovated depot is beautifully decorated and carefully restored to capture the feel of a depot.

We stayed in an end room which was huge and lovely with a bank of windows overlooking the bay. We were able to get a late check out easily. We locked ourselves out of the room and the staff took care of it quickly and safely. The food was excellent and the staff, particularly in the lounge where we had dinner. The waitress was helpful and pleasant and could describe the food well.

The only problem was the polar vortex had hit and it was bitter cold and we found it difficult to regulate the temp in our room and the public areas of the hotel, due to the amount of glass, marble, and tile, were cold.

Overall.....I would stay there again. Conference facilities were nice. There were shops in the hotel and it was beautiful.

Room Tip: We stayed in an end room and had the most beautiful view of the bay and one entire wall of windows.

This historic site is comfortable and has all the charm you expect from an historic site with all the modern comforts to make your stay relaxing and rejuvenating. The restored train depot is lovely with a great restaurant and shops to enjoy. If you are feeling chilled, stop by the hotel bar and ask for Tammy's Toddy, her special recipe is sure to please!

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza on New Years Eve.

The hotel is a bit dated but clean. The lobby is a beautiful old restored train station with tons of personality. The hotel part is a glass and steel rectangle without any.

I felt it was overpriced. It was NYE so I can understand a higher rate, but Pensacola isn't that great for NYE. The hotel is located directly across the street from the civic center and an easy walk to the main commercial area downtown (15 - 20 minutes).

The staff isn't very friendly. They didn't really make any attempts to ask if they could help us out finding our way around town. The map they provided was a bad photocopy of a bad map of the city. They weren't unfriendly, just not hospitable.

Unless downtown or the civic center is a big part of your visit to Pensacola, I'd seek a better value elsewhere. You'll need a car in Pensacola anyway so you're going to be driving no matter what.

First off, thank you so very much for taking the time to post your comments. They certainly can help us to do even better. New Years Eve in downtown Pensacola has become very popular and our hotel sells out every year. The hotel is a buzz of energy on that night. Regardless of how busy the hotel is, we strive to give each guest individual world-class service. I will pass your comments on to our Guest Service Manager and we hope to see you again next year.

My wife and I decided to stay at this hotel while visiting Pensacola because of the price. We looked at hotels on Pensacola Beach Island and the middle Island and this by far was the best value. It's a 15 minute drive to the island so not bad, and this hotel has plenty of parking and is a short drive from restaurants, bars, and the Blue Wahoos Stadium in downtown Pensacola. The historic lobby is really neat to walk through; the rest of the hotel, where the rooms are, is well kept '90s modern. The room and bed were very comfortable. Many people mention the train that passes the hotel, we just asked for a room on the quiet side of the hotel that faces the convention center, while you could still hear the train, it wasn't overwhelming.

Right down the street is a great bagel place called Bagel Heads. Everyday we'd stop there for breakfast and also buy bagel sandwiches for lunch which we'd take with us to Fort Pickens National Park (Gulf Islands National Seashore). The beaches here were beautiful and comfortable with restrooms and lifeguards compared to the dirtier and overcrowded city beaches.

Also, if you like historical homes, be sure to drive through the Pensacola neighborhoods, there are very nice historical Victorian homes to see.

Overall a nice historic hotel, kept clean & maintained well. Lobby and hallways have a lot of old furniture, some older decorations as well. The bar has decent price on drinks & they were good! Our room was a double on the 10th floor it was clean & bathroom was as well but lighting was dim for getting dressed(makeup, hair) the hotel was busy & the atmosphere was fun on New Year's Eve.
