“Nice Stay - Beach View Blocked by Trees”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

We had a nice stay here while visiting our son who is in school on the base. Rate was very very reasonable. Only dissapointed because all of the rooms in this lodge face the Pensacola Bay, but you can't see anything from the large trees in the way. THey need to go in and top the trees off, because i think it is an absolute shame that these trees are so tall and overgrown that they block the view. The older woman at the front desk who checked us in gave us no information about the place - she needs to offer information pertaining to the breakfast routine, where coffee is located, etc. Young red haired girl at the desk was more interested in watching the television than she was answering some of my questions. She could have been a little more service friendly. It would have been great if they had a pool. Cleaning staff did an excellent job every day and were very friendly. I got the impression that because there price is so reasonable, they don't need to go over and above for anything else.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to lobby. Also, note that the they do have a little store where you can pick u...

Thanks to another review by CarlSalad, we stayed on the top floor of this lodge. It was very nice and clean and we had a beautiful view. Reasonable priced but was a little disappointed that we did not get a kitchenette. We had a small refrigerator with a microwave & 1 queen bed. Elevator was SO nice since we had a lot of baggage. The beach was daunting since it looked like the beach elevation dropped off straight down into the ocean! We didn't swim because of that. The hotel staff was ok but the young lady on the night staff was outstanding when we checked out. Very hospitable and cheerful even though it was 3:30 AM and she had been working since 10 pm!
We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise.

Our first stay at a Navy Lodge and were we ever impressed! he building and property are stunningly gorgeous. The landscaping is beautiful. The paver steps to the beach are beautiful, my mom is 91 and since that was too much for her we drove to the same beach in a minute and parked right by a covered pavillion to sit under or in the sun. Breakfast is a continental in a bag and there is a mini Nex with food and any other necessary items needed in the lobby. Nice NEX & food court on base and huge NEX nearby. The nearby Pensacola lighthouse is right on base and I took a haunted tour, real fun. Don't miss the Naval Aviation Museum and Cubi cafe: 1 day is not enough even if your'e not an aviation buff. We didn't have time to see the fort or Pensacola beach, so we'll be back! Very moving national cemetry on base. Front desk and cleaning staff were great. Beach towels provided. Chair & ottoman and table w dishes etc. Nice tropical decor. The room was clean, spacious and we were thrilled to be able to bring our cat! The beach is beautiful, you don't even need to leave the base there is so much to do.

Room Tip: a higher floor will give you a better view. don't miss the sunrise.

We wanted to visit our son who is in flight school at NAS Pensacola. After researching hotels on Pensacola Beach, which were very pricey, we had the opportunity to stay at the Navy Lodge. Great rooms at a terrific price. We stayed in 317 -- 2 queen beds and a kitchette with aparment-sized refrigerator, cooktop, microwave and breakfast bar. Also had a desk and an side chair with ottoman. Nice view of fhe grounds from our balcony -- the beach was blocked by the trees. I was initially concerned because we were next to the elevator and stairway, and also close to the laundry room. We had absolutely no noise problems for the first five nights. On night six, we had a very active child above us, running around and banging things at 4 am. We had no problem the last night of our stay. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is great. The water itself can be crystal clear or a little murky, depending on the time of day and the tides. At night, ghost crabs were everywhere -- very neat to see. As others have have mentioned, the beach is on Pensacola Bay, not Pensacola Beach (which is about a 20 minute drive). But it is wonderful to be so close to the water! The hotel staff is great -- always willing to help. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful location aboard NAS Pcola! Up front, our only gripe is that the place can be noisy... specifically, the pitter-patter of footsteps resonates quite well from the rooms above and/or adjacent to your room. Be ready if you're unlucky enough to share a wall, floor, or ceiling with a family having young children! That small piece said, the rest of my review is positive. The beachside location can't be beat... honestly, its on some of the best beach Pensacola has to offer! Even better, two "can't miss" attractions are a short walking distance away; the Museum of Naval Aviation and the Pensacola Lighthouse. A small NEX annex in the main lobby covers you for any items you might need. There's a great little gazebo out back, perfect for grilling & chilling. Last, but not least, wake up each morning and go fetch yourself a bag-breakfast (yogurt & bagel) and great cup of coffee in the lobby!

Room Tip: Beware of potential for noisy neighbors.

After checking out of the filthy Quality Inn for $130 a night, this was so refreshing! Only $78 a night, clean, great people at the desk, and right on base with our Marine son. We had a nice lanai overlooking the water, a kitchenette, and were across the street from the museum and just down the street from the lighthouse. There is a nice beach, hammocks in the shade, picnic tables and a BBQ. We could watch the jets fly over from the lanai while we ate our small, bagged free breakfast (yogurt and a banana muffin) just right for me. And it was very safe.
If you have a relative stationed here, I highly recommend it!

We had an excellent visit to the Navy Lodge Pensacola. Excellent value at this hotel right on small beach. Great coffee and helpful front desk staff. Great stay in rain and sun. Visit Naval Aviation Museum and Lighthouse, too.
