My husband and I were visiting Pensacola for the first time on June 16, 2013. We wanted to eat where the "local" to insure we would get great Gulf seafood and not the marketed commercial foods a the tourist spots, so a local recommended The Fish House, however once we arrived and looked at both menus we decided to eat at Atlas. It was pretty weird the their located in the one huge building, same owners but different names and different menus...it should all be one...Anyway, the place wasnt packed evwnthough it was Fathers Day, we sat outside to soak in the atmosphere which was overlooking the gulf. Out waitress, Angela was amazing, friendly and she took photos of my husband and I. We ordered a combination seafood platter which you can order 3 items (all over 1lb ea) so we ordered 2 crab legs 3lbs total and steamed shrimp 1.5lbs. Pecan crusted green tomatoes (Loved it!!) Mashed potatoes and Cheese Grits (I forgot the name but it was soooo good)! All the food and service was great! The only problem we had were the FLYS!! They didnt come out till our food was served. The waitress appoligized and told us they usually put peppermint oil under the deck which keeps them from coming out, but they ran out. It was tough to enjoy the food to the fullest it your constanly wack away flys. Outside of the flys, the food was great and we plan to return!! Ill make sure I bring my peppermint oil just in case! :-)
