“Grits a ya ya”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

Blow your diet and your budget. Gigantic portions except for the fish. Expect about a 6oz portion with salad and two sides for $20-$30. The manager will try to make your experience perfect, so if you aren't happy, let him know and it will be fixed right away. And don't try to change the "Grits a ya ya" unless you want to drive the kitchen AND servers insane. It's fine the way it is, don't like mushrooms? Then order something else.

“View or Food?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

If you are more concerned about the view than the food, this won't disappoint. The view of Pensacola Bay, the 3 mile bridge and a small marina is picturesque. However, the food was a disappointment. We were two diners, one of whom chose from the $13.99 dinner 'blue plate' specials. She selected the Country Fried Steak, which was passable. However, the selected side of fried okra was extremely overcooked, although the asparagus was fine. I chose their pecan crusted fried shrimp ($20+). Sadly, the coating didn't stay on the shrimp, although the shrimp were tasty despite the coating falling off. The selected side items were fine, although the hush puppies were rendered uneatable due to being so overcooked. When the manager came over to clear plates and ask how the meal was, she agreed that the aforementioned over cooked items (fried okra and hush puppies) definitely looked overcooked. She said she would bring it to the attention of the cook after offering to bring fresh ones (we were finished eating!). One would have thought she may have offered a dessert 'on the house', but nothing was mentioned. Overall, a disappointing dining experience.

“Right on the water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

We wanted to have seafood while we were in Florida, so we drove over to the Fish House for lunch. I was surprised that there weren't more Gulf seafood choices. The fish of the day was tilapia...very disappointed in that choice. But, I had their shrimp grits that they are known for, and it was good...a little too salty, but good.

We tried the Fish House for the first time last night. Each of our three meals were cooked perfectly, the service was great and the bar/restaurant provides a great atmosphere. We had a very enjoyable meal and evening. THANKS!
