With so many great local restaurants, it has been a while since we've been to an Outback. Honestly, it was a bad night for the cooks, but the service more than made up for it. The ribs were as expected, pretty good but nothing to write home about. We had to send back both the prime rib and filet tenderloin. The prime rib first came out almost raw (ordered medium rare), and then seared and overdone. Finally Terri brought out a new cut and it was pretty good. Having it sent back twice was obviously disappointing. The filet tenderloin was part of the Filet and Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie. The description was slightly misleading, as it specifies a "petite filet." It was very thin, so it was difficult to tell the actual cut. It was not at all what we expected. We ordered it medium to start with, and it came out extremely well. The replacement was closer at medium-well, but still not perfect.
As far as the service goes, Andy and Terri more than made up for the disappointing quality. We only paid for what we were satisfied with, and were even comped the Bloomin' Onion and a Carrot Cake (that was a surprise from the manager). All-in-all, a disappointing meal was rescued by a caring manager.
