This review is not only for this resaurant but most here in Pensecola and Alabama.
The food was not bad at the Oyster Bar.
What I found to be the ultimate fraud in dinning is the fish they serve here in these two areas. I am talking about what they refer to as White fish, Panga, and Bassa. There also may be one other name it goes by. It comes from Vietnam. I even specifically asked the waitress when I asked if this fish came from Vietnam she assured me it was not. After I ate it and went to publix I saw that fish in the frozen section. I reat the lable and it said product of Vietnam. I was livid at that point. I went straight back to the restaurant and confronted the manager. Who first tried to tell me it was not from Vietnam. He realized where I was going with the questions went to the chef and came back and admitted it was from Vietnam.
So when you order fried white fish, or a seafood platter beware of what the fish is and where it truly comes from if you can get them to tell the truth. When I questioned and asked why do you lie and tell people where it truly comes from the reply was "Because no one would buy it".
It can make you sick. Just look up the names on the internet. The restaurants feel tourist come in and out who will notice.
I did call a newspaper reporter and he told me buyer beware and I said "I did ask "is this from Vietnam" was told NO.
The mentality is the fish is cheap to buy and we the consumer pay trout prices for a garbags fish.
I gave this restaurant a one rating not for the taste of the food. And not so much for their high prices on the menu. I give it a one because I feel I was lied to, I want to make the choice what food I eat and where it comes from.
I hope you feel the same way.
