My wife and I camped at Fort Pickens in Late October through early November 2003. The weather was great low to Mid 80's for the highs and 60's for the lows, low humidity and clear skies. The water temp was in the upper 70's and was comfortable for swimming. The brilliant white beaches and blue-green water were very clean, however, I have been there at other times of the year when there is a lot of seaweed. If you are unfortunate to have tide driven seaweed or jelly fish at the local beach there are dozens of wonderful beaches within 25 Miles of Ft. Pickens that are clean. The campground itself is a little far from town for people who love to be in the center of activity, but is perfect for those who like it slow and quiet. I would encourage anyone to check out Ft. Pickens and Pensacola Fl for a relaxing vacation.
