Emerald Isle is an upscale hi-rise condo building located right on the beach (about 100 yds. from water's edge) and about 1/2 mile from the center of Pensacola Beach commerce (Boardwalk). It has two pools and a jacuzzi in the rear of the building and a small, serviceable workout room with an older universal unit, a treadmill and a stairmaster with a TV to watch while exercising. The unit four of us stayed in was tasetfully decorated and furnished with a large balconey overlooking the Gulf and the pool. Since we were on the 6th floor it could be a bit loud up with young children's typical noisemaking until about 10:30 PM. There seemed to be quite a lot of people traffic on the beach until the wee hours so the teenage social scene seemed to be in full swing on the dark beach. All in all the stay was very enjoyable and I would gladly return. RMI Real Estate was also pretty accomodating and helpful. They're web-site is helpful and easy to navigate. Pensacola Beach is a young, energetic mostly southern vacation spot with friendly locals and active vacationers. The huge US Navy presence is not overpowering and, in fact, is barely noticeable. All encounters with any Navy personnel were met with pleasant politeness.
