LOCATION: Very nice. Ocean front. Great views. Center of "town".
ROOM: Okay. Not wonderful, not horrible. We were only provided 1/2 - 3/4 roll of toilet paper in each restroom (2), with no extra rolls. Only given 6 bath towels for 4 people for 4 nights. Not one extra anywhere. Beds were very very cheap... on wheels.. twins and the king in master bedroom. Sheets were cheap, not comfortable at all. Colors in rooms were horrid. Front door doesn't have a deadbolt, nor does it close all the way.. which means on windy nights (like we had) the most awful LOUD howling noise coming thru door which is directly in front of guest bedroom (kids room). Couldn't be quieted with towels placed around door. We were provided no laundry detergent... only an empty bottle. Mish mash of utensils and cups/glasses. Older appliances. Cheap motel soap in restrooms. Outdoor corridors leading to rooms. For an upper scale (which I thought) room, this feels more motel like. I wouldn't stay here again, nor would I recommend staying here.
POOLS/GYM: We didn't use the gym so I cannot comment there. The pools (2) were okay. Water was brrrr cold, and one pool that was supposed to be warm was only a few degrees warmer than the "cold" pool. Hot tub was large, but filled with adults. There were only a few smaller children during our visit. It would have been nice to have had an indoor pool to swim in during windy days, or red flags for the beach.
BEACH: Just outside the back door, and down a wooden walkway, and you're at the beach. Wonderful beach! But.... the nice wooden chairs and umbrellas.... not free for guests. If you used them.. you paid extra... either hourly or by the day. The fees were costly... better to bring your own chairs.
BLUE ANGELS: When the Angels fly.. they are no where near the beach. They practice over the base, and when they "do" fly over the beach, it's for the air show. We didn't see one Blue Angel anywhere near the beach... and only saw two fly when we were just outside the naval base.
RESTAURANTS: Several to choose from, but during busy time of year, expect to either wait a long time, or be ignored. We actually left one restaurant because after waiting a good amount of time, we were not approached by one single employee for drink orders, nor given a menu, nor told to expect a wait. Several people looked quite irritated actually. Most of our meals ended up being eaten at restaurants over the bridge. (Toll back onto Pensacola Beach is $1.00 each time, so have some dollars handy).
NOISE: Other than wind noise which I already explained, we weren't that bothered by noises from pools or guests.. we were high enough up that the noise was not obtrusive. The other couple who were with us had some unruly teens outside their door, and had to go outside to quiet them.
