July, 2007 - Perdido Sun Condominiums in Perdido Key, Florida
We rented 9 of the units-3 were 2-bedroom, 3 were 3-bedroom and 3 were situated mid-top and varied in size.
Here is what we experienced:
Night guard at beginning of week was harsh; a horrible attitude! We followed the "rules" posted at pool and hot tub, but the guard had a differant set of rules and thoroughly enjoyed his heavy hand. He caused children to cry and frightened others. He left many of us full of confusion and grief.
One of the air conditioning vents in our unit was covered in a thick, thick carpet of MOLD and really bad. We wiped it down, maintenance came and cleaned out the inside, but that was all that was done. I suffered from the mold.
One of the TVs in the unit would not come on. We reported it the 2nd day, but the owners never replaced it. They are local, too, so they could have easily done so. We never even received a courtesy call whether it would be or not.
The microwave in our unit could not be plugged in unless it was moved and with all the rules, we dared not even attempt to move it.
The enviroment is that of a funeral home. In the lobby, we could not talk, we were to whisper. They hushed us. At first I thought maybe some of us were being loud, but then I witnessed a hush for myself. We quit speaking as we walked through the lobby. The reception desk was noisy, though.
Non Owners are treated lessor and anyone not desiring to feel inferior on vacation does not want to stay at the Perdido Sun Condos. The owners are snobby. They don't want tourists invading their haven. Several made this very obvious. They act as though they were drama kings & queens and tattletales.
Some of the Perdido Sun owners supply one cheap roll of toilet paper per room and that is it. All other resorts and condos I have visited do a MUCH better job of supplying the basic paper needs. The front desk obviously does not know what is going on because one of them told us they do provide more toilet paper, but we had to wait until maintenance was back; however, in the morning, we were told, "no, we do not supply that." That was frustrating.
The Perdido Sun needs to get a new outlook on tourists. I know my family provided over $150,000 in revenue to stay there, but all the ones I spoke with will never do it again with the Perdido Sun, and it is highly unlikely that any of us will give a good report.
We paid too much for such a place as the Perdido Sun. It was a rule-burdened stay and not even as nice as most other places I have been to.
Vacation is suppose to be fun not stressing and full of anxiety. Who wants a funeral of a vacation??
Terribly Disappointed and Not Happy with Perdido Sun Condos
