“Clean, comfortable, good service, but a little farther from the beach then expected.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2010

The service at this hotel could not be beat. The jets would not come on in the hot tub the first night we were there, but the attendant came within 3 minutes of being called. They had the hot tub fixed the following day. The breakfest was great and offered a variety of options such as biscuits, pastries, cereal, gravy, waffles, bagels, and alternated bacon and sausage. The room was very clean, the pool was well maintained. There was a very small patio outside that could use a little updateing. The door leading inside from the patio would not unlock with the hotel key. There is only one elevator, but we just used the stairs for the majority of our stay. We stayed 4 nights, and found extra towels were easily acquired upon request. My husband really utilized the fitness room and described it as very convenient, but would have liked to have had a remote for the televison instead of having to stop his workout to change channels. My daughter, who is 11, really liked the flat screen t.v. in the room. The landscaping outside was clean and inviting with palm trees and other plants. Some noise did filter into the room, but was easily grounded out by the televison. The time it took to get to the beach was a little longer than we anticipated. This was our first time staying at a Country Inn and Suites, and overall if returning to this area we would try to stay closer to the beach, but would definitely stay with this hotel chain in other locations.

The hotel is newly built and it shows. I would say mabe 6-8 months old possibly a year.
The front desk clerk was very nice and worked with us because we had actually booked another Country Inn & Suites by accident! She gave us a good rate and offered us what she had left available. We chose the King Suite with Sofa bed. The room smelled nice and clean and all the furnishings were in very good condition. The room was very roomy even by Suite standards. Bathroom was averge but clean and well lighted.
Location was easy to find right off of the interstate. Makes a good middle stopping point when heading to and back from Disney if you are from South LA. or East TX.
We did use the pool and although the chlorine was very strong being indoors, the pool was clean, roomy and the hot tub was as well. Nice little enclosed area for computer work, etc... just near the pool and the fitness room was equipped with treadmills, steppers, tv's ,etc... Good for a quick workout.
I would recommend this hotel for short stays while passing through.

It was nice normal two queens room. Clean and updated. Nice lobby with a breakfast bar that was clean and well stocked. We stayed only one night.

This hotel charges $25.00 PER PERSON- PER NIGHT FOR A DEPOSIT. They said it was for pets in the room, ,smoking in the room and removing furniture- (i am what king of people are staying there if they have to inspect rooms). Every person who checkied in was shocked - BUT JUST TO TIRED TO ARGUE. While questioning them about the so called mandatory charge and where it was in writing-it is not in writing and who knows if unsuspecting travels will ever of have ever rec. their deposits back. I finally paid the fee in cash as it was late. They really eanted my credit card as they wanted to put a 14 day hold on the card. I made them sign a letter stating what the fee was for, when and how I would get the fee returned once a hotel staff person actually checked the room (THIS IS JUST CRAZY)

THE HOTEL MANAGER LIED AND SAID HE OWNED THE HOTEL -THE FRONT DESK CLERK WAS RUDE AND MY FINAL REVIEW -STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE-IT IS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE !

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2010

We booked 2 rooms for 5 nights at this hotel (end of March-3rd of April). We were in Pensacola for medical reasons and upon check-in, we quickly found out that the room temp cannot be adjusted below 68. The thermostat is locked at that temp. I was having surgery that week and therefore, this was unacceptable. Rhonda was working the front desk that night and took the time to find us 2 rooms right near each other and upgraded my room to a suite because those thermostats are NOT locked; they are fully adjustable.

The hotel is very pretty, inside and out and in a GREAT location. Cracker Barrel is right across the street, as is Hardee's, Ruby Tuesdays, Waffle House and McDonald's. You are literally 2 minutes off the interstate and 20 minutes from the beach (depending on traffic, of course). There is a large Food World grocery store about 5 minutes down the road, complete with a pharmacy.

The staff is wonderful and the pool area is very nice and always clean. The pool is indoors and heated and the sauna fits 7-8 people comfortably. There is one elevator and it's quite fast, we never had to wait long. Maid service is prompt and the cleaning ladies we encountered were (although they didn't speak English), always friendly.

The breakfast? YIKES! They advertise a "hot breakfast" but I don't think biscuits and gravy and Belgian waffles (only one waffle maker-you make them yourself), really qualifies as a hot breakfast. They have tiny (2 bite) danishes, boiled eggs, bagels, toast, tiny yogurts and 2 kinds of cereal. We only saw fresh bananas on 1 morning of our stay, no other fresh fruit. Milk is served in a coffee caraffe, making it difficult to take anything back to your room for teenagers that slept in. My husband complained to the breakfast lady and she wasn't very friendly. She said that each morning you will get either scrambled eggs OR bacon OR sausage, NOT all 3 on any day. Only one. That seems ... odd. Given that, my husband and kids ate at Cracker Barrel every morning except for one, making our stay more expensive than we had anticipated.

One of the great things about Country Inn & Suites that we have always loved is the fresh Otis Spunkmeyer cookies you find at the front desk each afternoon/evening. Not at this one. We only saw cookies one time. They said they don't put them out if the hotel isn't busy. Bummer!

The business center is nice and the fitness room (although small) is perfect for a mini-workout in the mornings.

The mattresses are okay, kind of firm and the bed linens are nice, not itchy like some hotels have. The amenities in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, lotion), are all quality items, not Dollar Store stuff you've never heard of. Both of our rooms (both the regular room and the suite), had a microwave and refrigerator. That was nice.
They also have big-screen TV's! Local and long distance calls were free, as was wi-fi.

We really enjoyed the stay. (Well, with the exception of my having to have surgery.) And as stated above, Rhonda is definitely an asset to this location. She worked very hard to accommodate us when we arrived. We would definitely stay there again.

Booked a two night stay through Travelocity. Change of plans required me staying only one night. When I checked in and told of my change from two nights to one night the hotel clerk told me she could not do anything to change my reservation. I needed to contact Travelocity. Travelocity said it was the HOTELs policy that I could not change my reservation. After several back and forth calls to Travelocity and the front desk I wa finally told by the front desk that it was indeed the HOTEL policy that I could not change my reservation without paying for an additional night. I asked to speak to the Hotel Mgr and was told they would have the Mgr call me. Never called. Couple of hours later, I asked again to speak to the Hotel Mgr...no call back.

I stayed the extra night since I was going to end up paying for it anyway.

The people who run this hotel definitely do not understand the customer service aspect of running a business; maybe it's the cultural differences that contribute to this? Anyway, if you have an issue be prepared for it to be ignored and go unresolved by this hotel.

It is a new hotel, so it still has everything in working condition. It's in a good location and is clean, but I do not expect it to stay that way if they don't do a better job of taking care of the property or their guests.

I normally stay at Marriott brands and have never had any trouble like I did with this one. I will stick with Marriott from now on.

We found this hotel after reading tripadvisor reviews before booking it. It really lived up to what people had stated. The hotel is really nice, only about 1 year old, the rooms are very nice and does not have the strong smell of cleaning appliances that some other places have. The staff was very helpful and serviceminded. The only small thing we would comment on is that the bathroom sink is placed a bit high. Overall we where very pleased with our stay here.
