5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2010

convienent between exciting nightlife / museums of DT Pensacola and beautitul beaches of Perdido Key. Community has a large pool that is well maintained. I stayed there with a bunch of girls and their MoM...very safe and no one bothered us ..would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a comfortable place to stay saving $ to enjoy restaurants and all the great things to do in Pensacola and surrounding areas.

If you’ve visited the web site for Bayou Grande Villas, Google the address and review the satellite views. Now you’ll know what the area is really like.. A trailer park with no beach.

There is no cable but you do receive 14 TV stations 4 of which are worth watching if you don‘t mind changing the rabbit ears occasionally and no WiFi.. TV is circa 1995 and although there are tons of B rated DVDs, I was unable to get the DVD to work with the TV.

(There’s a great pet friendly bar, Rocky’s, 10 blocks away and a library 8 miles away with WiFi..)

The accommodations are a single wide trailer. Master bed is fine and bath, although small, acceptable. (We didn’t use the other bedrooms, but the second bath leaked.) Major appliances all work although the washer overflows on a super load. Heat and AC fine although there are no furnace filters. Pots and pans are worthless so bring a George Foreman. Dishes and utensils are adequate for 3-4 but with no dishwasher, there’s lots of dishwashing. We rented because we needed a dog friendly environment, however there was no way we could leave our dog in the overcrowded laundry room.

From my perspective you can spend $1300/mo living in a trailer and driving all over the place to visit the beach, attractions, park, dining etc. or rent a nice place on the beach with cable and WiFi and walk to everything.

I don't understand these "complaints" because myself and my local staff check on the guests numerous times in person as is our policy to make sure they are having a good time and everything is to their satisfaction and guests confirmed everything was good. I am really puzzled by this review as these guests emailed me a letter thanking us for their stay and stating they hope we get a chance to stay again next year. They did say they thought the washer was leaking but wasn't sure, and immediately our local staff took care of the issue which was the water line was clogged. We have permanent filters as is the style in newer homes, but don't understand this "complaint". I specifically asked them about how the pots and pans were as their friends staying at the other unit had requested new ones ( and I sent the friends a brand new Farberware set), but they told me their set was fine. They only had two people staying there so don't know why they are complaining about washing dishes for 3-4. There is no leak in the second full bath, the guests didn't close the shower curtains sufficiently. It is obvious from our website and pics this is a manufactured home community and we state that it in the ads and website. I encourage prospective guests to look at the pics from Google so they can see the area in general. Don't understand guests remarks since pics are taken right after Hurricane Ivan and it is obvious their new home is just an empty lot in the pics so not representative in that regard. The community is on the water of Bayou Grande as you can see in the pics and no one has represented anywhere at anytime we are on the beach. However, we do notate it is a short drive away and that can be seen in the Google pics. They paid only $850 before pet fee and cleaning fees and it was still less than $1300 for a month. They could not get a three year old three bedroom two full bath with all fees included and that allowed pets for $1300 on the beach or they would have. Very few places even allow pets. Laundry room not pet friendly what? You can't walk to everything anywhere on our side of Pensacola regardless.14 digital tv stations are plenty for most people there to vacation and want a good price rather than an brand new tv. Although ours is 35 inches and in perfect condition. We never state we have more channels or cable nor WiFi. Although guests can access Wifi from most cell phone carriers. The brand new library is six miles away and a pretty drive along the water plus you can use their computers and printers as our guests plus they have WIFI; snowbirds can take out books, cd's and dvd's as well. There are many WIFI spots close by starting with the gas station next to the front of the subdivision. These guests admit we have hundreds of movies and they are classics plus new releases - so I was puzzled to learn none of the hundreds suited them especially since they didn't watch any. When my staff told me they weren't using the dvd players I assumed one of them was broken and delivered three new players to them, one for each bedroom. They told me later on the phone that the dvd player(s) were not broken and also told me they never used one and did not want to learn how. I later found out they gave the new dvd players to their friends that stayed at the other unit during the same time period including a portable dvd player. ( The friends later took the portable dvd player home ...hmm) We want our guests to be happy and strive to make them so.

Very nice house, close to the water with boat dock. The owner was great, she helped with local attractions and was able to answer any questions.about surrounding things to see and do.I have visited almost every beach on the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola is by far the cleanest and nicest I have been to. Great family atmosphere. I will return without a doubt.

Just wanted to clarify that the boat dock in front of one of the villas is not affiliated with us nor owned by us, the guest made a private arrangement with the owner to use it. We do not own any docks but have deeded access to Bayou Grande and guests may use our boat compound and boat launch as an amenity. We enjoyed having this family as guests!

We enjoyed our views at this rental with a "homey" atmosphere. Near shopping and good dining. The air museum is a must see as well as downtown Pensacola. We were the first renters of this home. The deck was still in progress but we were advised of that situation. There were a couple of things we would have changed but the owner has already made those changes. The owner is great to work with and wants you to be very comfortable and enjoy your stay. If we would want to stay in this area again, we would consider staying at this location again. We found the neighbors to be friendly and helpful in recommending places to see and places to dine.
